Carolina Beach, North Carolina
"Sand Dollar Suites" suite 2 managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "Sand Dollar Suites" are a collection of one- and two-bedroom cozy condo's that are a stroll from our sandy shores, a short walk to downtown CB, and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!
The space;
Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, our "maximum capacity" and restricted parking options will always limit the number of visitors who can both rent on and visit our Island simultaneously! Although always relative, this provides a bit more elbow room and open space than average for those looking for more “distancing” and privacy than some larger public beaches. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a large inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for! * (due to Covid, please be prepared for periodic deviations from our usually scheduled events).
These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!
The entry to this 1 bedroom, 1 bath suite opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen. *It is important to note that it is NOT an owner’s job to provide personal family items for guests. From toiletries and linens, to community food stuffs and condiments it is ESPECIALLY important during this current climate for any used items of another to be discarded before our new guests arrive to ensure an optimally hygienic space
The unit's ONE QUEEN bed consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge. The ONE FULL sofa bed is a standard pullout couch with a 4”mattress. Remember, linens are NOT provided to keep your rates low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Seaside Linens & Rentals).
There is one smart TV in each suite to utilize one's personal subscriptions (such as Netflix or Hulu) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Bring a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or another such casting device if looking to ensure all the tech comforts from home are available during your stay!
We equip each suite with its own combination of books, games, and misc. accessories to help cover the basis for our guests to enjoy themselves in rain or shine. Sometimes however, these items are removed from the suite and not replaced, and we do not always realize it (tsk tsk!). If you notice something we’ve bragged about missing please let us know!
The outdoor shower is located on the lower left of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!
Guest access;
The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a portion of a respective deck, patio, or balcony.
PARKING: Each guest will have access to (1) ONE 8'x14' assigned parking space. Suites 1-3 park up front next to the road while 4-6 park in the rear of the building. DO NOT double park if looking to avoid a tow. Guests driving "oversized vehicles" (from SUVs to pickups) may have issues fitting comfortably. Any additional community parking spaces would have availability on a first come first serve basis. We do not recommend any local lot or proprietor.

The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.
•Linens (sheets, towels, floor towels, pillowcases, etc.) are NOT part of the suite rental. Pillows and basic comforters ARE provided. Please refer to the bedding chart supplied in the booking site description section for a unit’s bed sizes and plan accordingly. We partner with Seaside Linens & Rentals for any guests looking to rent a linen package as opposed to bringing or buying your own. They will deliver directly into the suite in advance of your stay!
• SWRE contractual quiet hours begin at 9:00pm EST. Town ordinance may allow more latitude with regards to noise (11:00pm) but our expectations are to help ensure all guests, locals, and neighbors alike have an enjoyable experience.
•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised. If that does happen, we will do our absolute best to find you alternative housing.
We loved our stay at Sand Dollar Suites! The location is absolutely perfect, and the home was clean upon arrival. I ended up reaching out to the host to add an additional day, and he responded immediately! We will definitely be coming back next year!
Place is excellent. Description of parking needs to in large red print for apartment 1, 2, 3 because only short vehicles fit. No regular size trucks fit. While we were there 3 renters all had to pay to park somewhere else because they did not see the fine print about the small parking spot. Manager will argue and not try to help at all. Renters mistake but would be fixed with a better emphasis on the parking description.
The most impressive thing about our stay, was the communication with and attentiveness of the Property Manager Dale. He bent over backwards to see that we were accomodated and happy, which we were. We had to delay our trip for well over a year due to my wife’s illness, and Dale saw to it that we were able to push our reservation without hiccups. It was a great location, a good price, and we will most definitely stay again.
Great experience!!
We really enjoyed this place. The bed and the couch were both very comfortable for sleeping. The place comes with all the basic dishes, pots, pans, etc for cooking and a boatload of wine bottle openers :-) We'd happily stay here again.
We have rented for the last few years here and stayed in three different suites all of which are nice. It is directly across from beach access and very convenient. We always enjoy our stay and Dale is always quick to respond when we reach out to him and always very friendly and helpful.
My son and I enjoyed our vacation at Carolina Beach. We loved suite 2 at the Sand Dollar Suites. We will be back very soon and hopefully book the same spot again.
My friends and I had a great stay at this property. The beach was super close and all restaurants/shops were a 5-10 minute walk as well! The location was great and the property itself was wonderful and just as described.
This unit was nice and clean. It had all of the essentials that we needed and the location to the beach was good. Parking is an issue if you have more than one car coming to stay but other than that it is a cute little place to stay.
Nice place that I booked last minute. I wouldn’t suggest it if you are washy on if you can actually go since there are no refunds (only complaint). Other than that it was a cozy 1 bed room 1 bath unit with a decent sized living room. I didn’t spend a lot of time in the house because there are so many great bar/eat options within walking distance. Also a lot of construction in the area but other than that I would book again.
