Stayed Jul 20, 2024The condo was clean and spacious. However, it was the views of the lake and sunsets that stole the show. Kitchen was well stocked with little things like plastic wrap and sandwich bags for our little ones to take snacks and sandwiches out on the beach. We will definitely be back next year.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon after our trip to the Dominican Republic was derailed thanks to a couple hurricanes. Had a really nice time. I'm an old pro at renting from the Homestead, have rented units here for 20 years, so it's helpful to know what you're getting going in, as privately owned units in there can be hit or miss. This unit has as good a view of the water as you'll find anywhere in the Glen Arbor area, it's really great. It's a 30 second walk down to the water to a pristine beach. Rent this unit for the view alone, you won't be sorry. The condo itself is so-so, very typical of privately owned units in the Homestead. Perfectly fine and clean, but don't expect a luxury experience with all the amenities, it's a pretty basic beachfront rental beyond the view. It has a full kitchen that seems to have been remodeled something in the last decade or two, which was nice. My only real complaint is just the age/condition of the things in the unit. The owners really need to make some cosmetic upgrades. The beds were comfortable enough, but the linens are ancient and in desperate need of replacement. Same for the bath towels. Most of the furniture seems like it was from the mid-90s, and while still functional, were very broken in and worn, and are well past their useful lifespan. The carpeting is probably just as old and is also past due for replacement or at least a serious cleaning. Same for the porch furniture - with such a lovely view I wish the chairs and table out there were a little less sketchy - we were a little timid to sit on the chairs for fear the fabric would rip and we'd be on the floor. If someone went to Ikea and spent a few thousand dollars to give this place a spruce up, it would be the nicest unit in the Homestead. The only other thing I felt was really missing here were some beach blankets and chairs. In a waterfront rental it's sort of expected you'll find these things available to use (what's the point of staying on the beach if you're not going to go sit on it?), but none were. If you're traveling any distance to get here, you're probably not lugging these things with you, and their absense was a bit disappointing. All in all, this felt like a privately owned vacation condo that the owners just decided to start renting on a whim, without really putting much thought into the condition or amenities for guests. The unit is great, the view is worth every penny and then some, and I'd definitely rent it again. Just go in with realistic expectations and you'll enjoy it as well. I do hope the owners pony up a little cash to make some improvements to the unit.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The view was absolutely amazing! The kitchen and first floor bedroom were updated and very nice! Other parts of the condo could use some updates, but overall it was perfect for what we needed. The amount of living space was perfect for our two families of four.
