Steps from the new gondola to the base area and the Children's Ski School - Rio Hondo Learning Center, this condo is the ultimate in Ski Valley lodging. Taos Ski Valley has seen big changes recently, from a new high speed quad replacing the old Lift 1 and, redesign of public spaces and beginner slope, and an ecological remodel of the Rio Hondo riverscape traveling around the base of the resort. We have all new beginner terrain from which to launch into a life long love of skiing. Parking has been upgraded and there are more dining options than ever. Kachina Peak continues to draw visitors from around the world to some of the most challenging and lung busting terrain in North America, Even with these changes, Taos retains the charm and funkiness that it has always been known for, not to mention the best skiing you can find.
Snow Bear lives up to Taos’s fun and funky nature, built into the side of the ski hill, you will need to bring the four wheel drive to access our property in the winter time (or call ahead to plan). You can ski right up to our front door and stick your skis in the snow bank for the next day's fun (in Winter, with coverage). Our on-site host is nearby to show the way on the slopes or provide dinner recommendations. Find out when his break is and you might get to check out some of Taos’s hidden terrain! Love of the mountains and the snow guide Snow Bear and its crew. You will find clean, well-appointed units brought to you with a friendly smile.
We can’t wait to have you up.
This property was great and felt like a hideaway in the mountains with the convenience of the kids ski school just at the bottom of the hill. We hiked up and down and got used to it. Despite the winter storm we were able to drive up and down the hill (4x4 is absolutely necessary) as well but the walk is refreshing and you can ride the free gondola to the main base all day. The property was clean, well maintained and both spacious enough for a family of four but perfectly cozy. Kitchen is stocked with supplies but the microwave was not in service due to it tripping a breaker but we were fine without it. I would certainly book this property again!
The property was accommodating to our group. Nice size rooms and most everything you need. Location was not far from town of Taos and close to ski valley. Owner was extremely responsive to emails. Things I should read more clearly...it is on the third floor. And being women, we overpacked and had lots of bags. Out of the hands of the owner was the cleanliness. There was thick layers of dust on window sills, blinds lamps almost everywhere. The floor was also in need of a good vacuum. Again, not the owners fault. And if you aren't there, you just don't know. Also, FYI, bring an iron or steamer. There is not one at the condo.
Family of 4 in Taos for skiing- 5 day stay. Condo was very clean and as described. Once we figured out the ski-in, the location was perfect. Fun location on the mountain. Definite need for 4WD to get into the parking lot. Some hiking to do from the p/lot to our condo, but not an issue. Very enjoyable trip. We hope to stay here again.
