The Ilikai building has begun a major exterior improvement project, including spalling repairs and full exterior painting, carried out by a licensed contractor. This is a large-scale project for the entire building and is expected to take approximately 1.5 to 2 years to complete.

Project Timeline for This Unit: February 2026 – June 2026

Work Hours:
Construction work is generally limited to 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM in accordance with building rules. However, if there are weather-related delays, contractors may begin work as early as 8:00 AM on certain days to stay on schedule. During work hours, there may be increased noise and dust in the surrounding area.

Lanai Access:
Please note that the lanai will be inaccessible during this period due to scaffolding and safety requirements.

Privacy Notice:
For your privacy and comfort, we recommend keeping the curtains closed during work hours, as workers may be present on or near the lanai.

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was a good place for three of us to stay during our time in Hawaii. It was clean and it was quiet. The location was great: we had a wonderful view of the marina, we were in walking distance to the beach and to the bus stop, and there were a few places to eat and shop at the Ilikai if we didn't want to venture out. At peak times, the elevator traffic would require a wait, but nothing that was inconvenient. The A/C unit, fridge, coffee maker et. al. worked well and did not pose an issue throughout our visit. The balcony was clean, and we enjoyed sitting out there from time to time. The bed and the futon were comfortable. Water seemed to leak from the kitchen sink around the counter but wasn't too bothersome. Overall, a great place to stay.

    Air conditioning was broken. Extremely humid and uncomfortable with out it. Fan attempted to start but compressor was not functioning.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This unit was very clean however it lacked attention to detail for a comfortable stay especially longer than one week. There is only one night stand next to the queen bed so you can't charge your cell phone or put a drink near the bed on one side. Why would you only buy one nightstand? Also, the pillows are horrible, they are $2.99 pillows from Walmart, if you stay here bring your pillows. The TV is way too small for the space. When you are in bed it's difficult to see or hear the TV because it's so small and far away. TVs cost nothing today, so why would you put such a small TV in a large space? The room has a small couch however it could use a chair too especially for longer stays. The kitchen lacks some basic items and/or some of the items are at their useful life and need to be replaced. The silverware is mismatched, the pasta strainer is too small to hold 1lb of pasta, the measuring cup is too small, no pizza cutter, the toaster needs to be replaced, only one small frying pan, the iron didn't work, the dustpan was broken and taped, vent and shower curtain rod in the bathroom have years of rust. The kitchen rug is dirty and disgusting and should be removed or replaced. No hand soap in the bathroom just one small bar of soap for the shower. The view is amazing when you are on the balcony however from inside the unit not so much. The windows were tinted many years ago and now the tinting is completely worn and torn in some places so the view from inside is cloudy. This unit has so much potential due to the view and its location but there is no feeling of love or care taken into consideration for the guest. The true owner of this unit needs to visit or stay there one night to completely understand my constructive review of their property. The property management company was responsive. I would stay at the Ilikai but I would not stay here again.
