Stayed Jul 14, 2021We stayed at the Portofino about 15 years ago and really enjoyed the views, the Gulf on one side and bay on other. We remembered how beautifully decorated most interiors were here (I am an interior designer). The view in this particular unit is lovely, angled towards the gulf side, yet high enough up to still be impressive. The kitchen in this unit is lovely with great finishes. It is overall a lovely condo, some furnishings are a little dated but functional. There are pillows that are torn in living area, baseboards were somewhat dusty, and there was a soiled area on the lid of the master bathroom commode. I quickly resolved that. The kitchen and main living area's were clean. The unit needs a fresh paint job and some minor issues with cleanliness need to be addressed, but overall, we enjoyed our stay. The unit is pretty, well situated, met our needs, but needs a few touch-ups. Communication with the manager, Carrie, was without any issues. I do believe making some updates in bathrooms, with paint, and new accessories would definitely make a person feel like he is getting his money's worth. I booked through VRBO as I usually do. It was a different kind of process, since you are checking in with the resort office upon arrival; same as those who booked directly. I didn't see the benefit in booking VRBO verses booking directly in this particular case. Carrie did leave me with her number in case there was a problem encountered that needed addressing. It appeared as though there had been updating in kitchen and foyer area's but not bedrooms and bathrooms.
