Let the kids swim, hit the cafeteria and play games while you hit the spa and play a round or two of golf. Ready to start something new...and not have to break the bank !
Interior:
This cozy condominium features two bedrooms. The first bedroom features 2 sets of bunk beds so the kids can all have fun in their own unique area. Each bed comes with it's own fan, light, charging station and shelf! The second bedroom will house a queen size bed and has a slider to the deck. Another slider is off of the living room as well and the views and peace and quiet are well deserved; so enjoy! The living room houses a sofa sleeper for additional sleeping arrangements and has a nice natural fireplace to relax to. The kitchen is a galley style area that opens up into the living area keeping the cozy tradition of the condo. A separate island/bar with 2 stools is nice for cooking, setting up food or snacking on. A large dining table with 4 chairs and a bench is great for eating and playing cards. One bathroom with a stand up shower lies between the bedrooms. All of the linens are included for your convenience.
Exterior:
Ideal location where you can walk to the ski lifts from the condo. Across the street is where all of the action is! The main lodge, "Ivan's" restaurant/bar, the spa and fitness area, and indoor pool/hot tub. Tennis courts, a basketball area and 2 hiking/biking trails (1 is a mile and the other is 3 miles) run in front of the condo. The pro shop and Schuss Grill is next to the unit and close to the driving range. Directly behind our unit is a pond with running fountains, a putting green and the first hole for the Schuss Mountain Golf Course. The resort has 3 villages and FREE transportation is available from village to village during the ski season. The Summit provides "Foot Golf", pools, large checkers and Jenga for more family game playing! Bellaire is a small, quaint town with shopping, beaches....and best known for "Shorts Brewery".
We had a great time staying in northern Michigan. It was over the holiday weekend and the place was PACKED. So we had to carry our luggage, ski equipment, cooler and food for the weekend .5 mile to get to the unit. Also, it is on the second floor. It is a great location and super handy but very inconvenient if you're there at a busy time as it's swamped with people and you can't get close to the unit. Also, it seemed strange to me that I had to sign another rental agreement besides the one I did through VRBO. I have never had to do that before and have stayed in many different places across the nation. It was just a bit of an added unnecessary hassle.
Propane grill had hole in hose, caught grill on fire. Stove top did not turn off properly, had to use pliers. Hair on toilet seat. Tub took 20 minutes to drain. Fridge did not get very cold. All beds and pullout couch need updated. Uncomfortable sleeping accommodations. I called phone number provided on Saturday to let them know of issues. As of 1:30pm Monday, I have not heard back from them. We love Shanty Creek resorts, but will not be staying in this unit again!
The condo was just so-so, with a lot of things inside being very outdated. In general, it was fairly clean, but when you looked at little things, like the rug in the bathroom for instance, it definitely needed to be washed. The main bedroom was very small. The overhead fan in the bathroom was super loud. I understand that snow skiing goes on there in the winter, but a very old looking Christmas wreath outside the door and pine cones on the mantel in July were a little much. The pictures online definitely made it look nicer than it really is.
Nice place. Condo has had some remodeling done. Laminate flooring, sticky back faux stone backsplash and walls painted. Decorating is nice and it all gives the place a pleasant, cozy look to these units that were built in the 70’s. Location is great. Right across from Ivan’s and the pink chairlift and on the xc ski trails. The master bedroom is extremely small. Only big enough to fit a queen bed in and it touched the walls on all 4 sides. You literally have to go out of the room to turn around. Ha ha. But it was all good and a perfect weekend getaway.
