In summer, the village turns into a mountain-biking and hiking hub with chairlift-accessed singletrack and the Wildflower Festival (Crested Butte is Colorado's official Wildflower Capital).



Historic downtown Crested Butte is 3 miles down-valley. Elk Avenue's Victorian main street has the best small-town dining in Colorado — Secret Stash pizza, Sunflower, Soupçon — plus galleries, bars, and a free shuttle from the village so nobody has to drive home.
