The Space:

Welcome to one of our most popular cottages at Bend Riverside Rentals, unit 262 that we have nicknamed Riverrun Retreat. Here you have one of the most idyllic views of the Deschutes River as it flows by the cottage.

This studio cottage offers an open floor plan with a huge picture window for an amazing full view of the Deschutes River. The studio sleeps two in a king sized bed, and offers a table and chairs for 2. In the kitchenette, you will find a fridge, microwave, and a stove top with 2 burners, along with dishes, glassware, and cooking utensils. Whether you need a place to crash for the night or a need a place to stay for a couple of weeks, we have the spot for you.

The river trail runs right by this unit. The windows are tinted, which gives you a fair degree of privacy even though you're next to a popular path. Take the river trail north and cross the nearby footbridge for a pleasant hike. Take the trail south and you'll find yourself in the heart of downtown in 10 minutes. In the summer, many people wade into the river in several well-known spots between your cottage and the footbridge. You'll see from your patio the most popular spot, which you'll see people relaxing at on most warm days in June, July, and August.

Recently the new owners of this cottage have done some makeover work. The new flooring, electric fireplace, paint, and decor has really brought this cottage to life. In the room, you will also find a new smart TV where you can sign in to your own Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and many other streaming sites. For those warm summer days, we have AC in the unit, and heat in the winter for those cold snowy days!

Our property has an indoor heated pool and hot tub that are open year round for our guest to enjoy, as well as on-site laundry, both of which are secured by a key card access. We hope to see you soon!

Guest Access:

The studio cottage comes with a unique code which will get you entry into your unit. There is a laundry room on the property, which is open from 9am-10pm daily, same goes as the pool.

This is a 1st floor unit, there are 0 steps required to access the unit.

The Neighborhood:

262 Riverrun Retreat

The studio cottage comes with a limited supply of complimentary coffee, sugar, and creamer.

My husband and I love the Deschutes, and we were looking forward to staying at a property on the River-but this rental was a disappointment for the most part. The facility is dated-with some nice upgrades-but mostly cosmetic fixes. The shower strength was laughable, and the cabinets in the “kitchen” area were old/cheap. The bed was probably the most uncomfortable I’ve ever experienced in a VRBO property. But the most disappointing was the heat pump directly beneath our window-so when we wanted to crack the window at night to listen to the River, all we could hear was the noise from the heat pump!! I would not recommend this property.

Fabulous studio on the river and greenway! Open the door or window and your there, 10 feet from the greenway and River. Old D’town is easy 5 minute walk , and greenway goes on thru town and out into the forest. For cyclists you can leave from the front door and be on bike path for 6 miles leading into the Nat Forest with boundless biking trails. Perfect spot for those lucky enough to get it!

Property was awesome. Great location. The only thing was loud Larry but they did calm down before 10 so not complaining.

The view was very good. We enjoyed being able to sit outside to watch & listen to the Deschutes River. When we walked in I was overwhelmed with the strong smell of either floor cleaner or air freshener. It gave me a sore throat, cough & headache! It was after 7 so the office was closed. I wrote an email to the manager. We talked the following day & maid mopped the floor with clean water. We were airing it out when the smoke arrived from the fires & we had to close up the windows. We talked with another guest who said a homeless looking guy walked into their unit because she forgot to lock the door. That ruled out enjoying the nice fresh air.We had to use air conditioning. It worked well and was relatively quiet. The refrigerator was on almost constantly and was noisy. It made it difficult to fall & stay asleep. Both the pool and jacuzzi were cloudy & had accumulated body oils/soil. The pool was cold & jacuzzi luke warm. A photo is included. The tub needs a grab bar to safely climb in and out of the shower. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable. We could feel every movement our partner made. The side chairs, coffee table, and bedding needs to be updated. We were there for 3 nights & had to prepay so we tolerated it.We are travelers and have never been this disappointed before.

In general this is a nice spot, located close to town and in a cozy space. We appreciated the view of the river, a working thermostat, kitchenette, quiet unit with no loud neighbors, and it’s quite a bit of space given it’s a studio. Some notes for management to address are that the shower water pressure is bad, and the fridge is loud. That said, it was a pleasant stay overall and worked well for us and our dog.

We spent a very comfortable 3 days. We hiked 12 miles along the river one day. Breathtaking views. The unit was very comfortable. Nice bed.Only downside was poor water pressure in the shower, so we ended up taking baths.

After figuring out how to navigate the parking lot to find where this unit was located (really the only challenge of my stay), this proved to be a perfect spot for my quick visit to Bend. It's an easy and convenient walk to downtown and beyond. Would definitely stay here again as a great place to base for a visit to Bend.

We were right on the river trail. Walked into town daily. Everything was great. Will stay again. It was a little difficult finding our room when arriving. Also, pool was closed as we booked to have a swim with our grandkids. Otherwise, a good value for our vacation dollar.

The property was bare bones, no floor lamp, no area carpet on vinyl floor. Shower head produced a very weak spray. Outside patio was a bit dangerous with loose pavers, very old air conditioner which kept us awake.
