Stayed Nov 27, 2019Property was very well-kept the condo had all of the amenities that were needed and was very pleasantly appointed. The location was excellent as it is by many restaurants and grocery stores that are within walking distance. The staff was very kind and caring. I would recommend this to someone that wants to just come and relax and enjoy the best of Hawaii

Stayed Sep 6, 2025Perfect stay for one or two people. Cute studio and big balcony with a lovely view of the courtyard and ocean. The host left welcome gifts which were a nice surprise. There is an ABC store with a delicious deli 2 min walk which was very convenient especially with a kitchen. The AC works great however the cable box did not work but I decided watching tv was not needed on this vacation. I would recommend.

Stayed Feb 27, 2025The property had to shut down half the amenities during our stay due to fumigation. This is the sort of thing that would have been scheduled but we were not notified before our trip or at check in and we were not able to adjust our plans to make best use of our available down time.We reached out to VRBO through our chat feature and did not get contacted for 6 days. At this point, we had become pretty frustrated.The unit was fine. The kitchen utensils were not completely inclusive and we had to buy a couple things to be able to use the property barbecues.We would still stay at this location but we would recommend reaching out to the property directly to see if there are any maintenance issues to plan our schedule.

Stayed Feb 9, 2024We enjoy the location of the Papakea Resort and have stayed there a few times. We enjoyed our stay. The living area was comfortable and clean. There were several beach items (chairs, umbrellas etc) available for our use. The bathroom, specifically the shower area, was a bit dingy and in need of an update. Overall, we were happy with the condo and our stay was a good one.

Stayed Feb 23, 2024Enjoyed our stay, but the bed and pillows were not great. Ended up buying new pillows and left them there. But the location and overall experience were good.

Stayed Mar 13, 2023We love this resort, walking distance to our favorite coffee + cinnamon rolls, dinner + groceries. The room itself is decent, the bed is truly one of the most comfortable sleeps we’ve experienced away from home.

Stayed Aug 2, 2022We've stayed here before in other units- so we knew what to expect. Older condos that have been mostly refurbished- with 2 pools and hot tubs, with great ocean views. Convenient location. Love this place.

Stayed May 24, 2022Check in is too late. Made us wait until 4 to check in. The place should have been much cleaner especially if they had that much time to clean and prepare the place. Other than that it was a good place to stay, we really enjoyed it.

Stayed Apr 30, 2022The office did not have any record of my reservation and said they could not confirm it because it was a weekend. Check in was delayed and I had to email my confirmation to be able to check in. Otherwise the room was good and the view was beautiful. Good location and fulfilled the needs of our stay.

Stayed Dec 23, 2021We had a four family reunion at Papakea. There were beautifully finished units and average finished units for virtually the same price, this was an average finished Studio, not a 1 bedroom. The dishwasher was non-operational for our stay, and the unit only had 3 beach towels. It would have been nice to have a fourth towel when we asked for a four person unit. Grounds were great and location was excellent. Finally, There we’re so many taxes and fees that the stated cost per night was virtually double the stated rate.
