As part of the AOAO’s ongoing commitment to safety and property improvements, the Maintenance Department and its contractor will be conducting the Annual Preventative Maintenance, cleaning, and repairs for the 6th Floor Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, and Pool Deck areas.
The pool deck area will be closed beginning Sunday,November 8 at 9:00 p.m. and is scheduled to reopen on Monday, November 16 at 7:00 a.m., weather permitting. During this time, the Pool/Jacuzzi access gate will be locked and secured, and all amenities within the area will be unavailable for use throughout the maintenance period.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this important maintenance project.

    Amazing large balcony with view of waikiki, from the canal to the ocean. Place was clean, wifi great, fridge and small kitchen. Everything you'd want. Property managers very responsive too. Building has pool, hot tub, washed dryer, etc. Great spot to base yourself for a week or two, being a block from restaurants and shopping, and 10 minute walk to an amazing beach.

I’ve been to Waikiki a few times through hotels and airbnbs but this was an incredible stay at a great value with a very customer-focused team who were always willing to help with whatever I needed. I’ll be using Ali’i rentals for all future stays in Hawaii.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The best thing about this property is the view. It is what you are paying for and it is outstanding! The pool area, laundry room and common areas were always clean and well-maintained. There is a full-sized boogie board, beach chairs, and backpack cooler on hand on the lanai which is great. The lanai area furniture is also nice. The cafe located just off the lobby area is reasonably priced and the food is reliably good. The property is well located close to other good eating venues, (Kono’s and Marugame Udon, were among some of our favorites). Access to the beach is through the Royal Hawaiian Hotel which is just two blocks down. A bit longer hike to the beach at Fort DeRussey will provide a more relaxed beach visit but it takes 10+ minutes longer to get there. On the downside, this is a TINY, cramped, space. It is best for two people but no more. We had three in the room and it was crowded. Half of the one small closet was blocked off so only 6 or 8 items could be stored there. The A/C is noisy and the sliding door to the lanai sounds like a train is rolling through the room (there is no sliding out to enjoy the view while others are sleeping), and it needed to be repaired before we could open the door (it was repaired the next day, so management is responsive). The bed next to the window is less than a foot from the window and the 15 inches of space between the beds is tight. Another 18 inches from the other bed to seating for the eating area, it is cramped. There is no kitchen but a small microwave, coffee maker, fridge and sink all worked. The tap water had an odd taste and never got cold, but the purified, filtered, water and ice machine available on the 6th floor around the pool area was always good. The bathroom is also tiny. The parking area is very tight and the automated ticketing system is irritating and unreliable. It was frustrating speaking with the support people at the kiosk as we tried to exit. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in January 2024 with family staying in a separate unit on 39th floor. Upon our arrival to Island Colony one of our room reservations could not be found by the gentleman checking us in. We tried multiple times to contact Alii Beach rentals, even at their afterhours/emergency number to no avail. This is not how we wanted to start our holiday after a rough day of traveling with young kids. We ended up having to pay out of pocket for the expense of one room that night. I contacted Alii Beach Rentals the next day and they reimbursed us promptly, apologized for the inconvenience and sent the check in paperwork promptly to Island Colony.Our room was clean on the surface but desperately needs a deep cleaning. Furniture is dated/worn. Hydraulics are broken on the bar stools-you will start out eating at counter height but then be sitting on the floor. Glass on the lanai railing was so mucky and smeared, it did not lend itself well to enjoying the view.The mattresses are so worn out they are literally falling apart, they have placed cheap foam toppers on them but they are still pretty awful with no edge support, you will roll onto the floor if you get too close to the edge and you would be hard pressed to comfortably sleep 2 adults in one bed because of this. Balcony door and windows shake so badly in the wind it may keep you up at niteSome of the pros!-Communication with Alii was typically great aside from their oversight with our reservation upon arrival. The view IS amazing and the lanai furniture is nice. Lots of channels on the TV to enjoy some downtime. Kitchen is well stocked for the basics. Lots of hot water and great water pressure. BBQ area was nice and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub-but sadly they close at 9pm. Laundry area is clean and machines work great. Parking is plentiful and easy. Breaky downstairs at 49er was delish. A few minor updates in this unit would go a long way-please start with the mattresses as a good sleep on vacation is prior

We love this building...the pool, the store, all the outdoor areas are beautiful. This rental company is amazing and we will continue to use their units for many years
