Surfside Shores II Condominiums building is located on West Beach Boulevard in Gorgeous Gulf Shores, AL and is direct beach front. There is nothing but sugar white sand dunes and amazing gulf waters in front this great Penthouse unit. The pool area is beach front so it has beautiful Gulf front views. This building also boasts a kiddie pool, charcoal BBQ grills, and on site security.

    Check in could have done via text message. Had to drive out of way to pick up the door code. Condo itself is way outdated. Paint chipped on walls, scuff marks and scratches on nearly every wall, chunks of drywall missing, mirror hung in bathroom to cover a big hole in the wall that still shows, dust bunnies hanging from the ceiling and around the light fixture in the bathrooms. The fan in the main bedroom is missing the chains to pull to turn the light on and off or to turn the fan down. You have to use the light switch to either turn said HI fan on or to turn it off. No option for light except for a lamp. Baseboards were gross covered in dust. Wall trim coming off or loose. Furniture mostly not what is pictured in the listing. Fire alarm hanging by a wire by the front door, unsure if it even works. Cleanliness and being updated is below a zero. View of and access to the ocean was the only good things about this condo.

    Smoke detector hanging from ceiling by front bedroom. Master bedroom had no lights in ceiling fan. All we had was this lamp for light in master bedroom. The washing machine had so much mildew, my husband had to clean it before we could us it. The master bathroom towel rack behind the toliet fell on my husband while getting out of the shower. The towels and wash cloths all stunk when we arrived so I had to wash them once my husband cleaned the washer. The floors were all dirty and walls had a lot of paint missing.

    Condo needs some attention. Dishwasher smelled horrible and couldn’t be used. There were only 3 coffee mugs in unit. Things were old and need to be replaced.

    We arrived on a Wednesday and departure was Sunday. We had family staying in multiple condo's. Everyone had received a email with the door codes before the arrival day except us. Called to see what was going on and found out we had to go to the realtor office to pickup our information. Thankfully it was only a couple miles from the condo. We had driven 9.5 hours with 2 small children. We just wanted to heat up something quick and relax. Well the microwave didnt work. The next morning the coffee pot didnt work. Not once did i ever see anyone at our front desk to be able to speak with. We were in and out multiple times daily. The only employee we ever came in face to face contact with was the gentleman in the parking lot shack. Expect on the last night a gentleman with housekeeping had said hello when passing in the pool area. The pictures viewed online were showing a leather chair possibly recliner. The chairs in the rooms were nothing like in the picture. One bedroom had a TV and one didnt. The troubles we came across could have possibly been a easy fix if there was someone to be able to speak with while there. We made the best of our vacation, but next time will try elsewhere. For the amount you pay you expect some type of communication. This facility had very poor/no communication.

    We were bummed to find neither hot tub works. By the looks of them they haven't worked in a long time, so shouldn't be listed as an amenity. Also the pull out on the couch is TERRIBLE and I wouldn't allow a dog to sleep on it. The check in also requires you to go to a separate location to pick up your parking pass, which could easily have been waiting at the condo. The dishwasher was not working and someone was out promptly to fix it, so that was good. The location is nice and of course the view is beautiful.

    Great location! Needed some deep cleaning and the couch could use a major upgrade! I had to wash some pans and the coffee maker before I used.. I’d love a keypad instead of using a key- but overall I would stay there again.

    We always stay at Surf Side Shores when we make our annual trip to Gulf Shores. It is the best location by far. Whenever I book a trip there, I always check over the condos very carefully. Do you know how to book a good condo? I always look at the couch. Good couch=good condo. Well, let me tell you. The condo in the pictures is not the condo we got. It was terrible. The setup was completely different from the pictures. Instead of the nice comfy recliner, there were two weird wicker chairs that looked like they were from a terrible dining room. The table was in the wrong place. There were no throw pillows and no real pillows at all. We had to go to Wal-Mart for pillows and blankets, and there were only three of us there. The kitchen was clearly stocked from a yard sale. And the worst part? The couch. It had a nasty, old blanket on it and holes all over it. I was so embarrassed. This condo was gross all the way around, and it needs some serious work.
