We had a great stay on a visit back to a prior military duty station! When we had the opportunity to visit, The Purple Parrot was the only location we considered staying, as it was close to our favorite beach, and in a familiar area of town. And it absolutely did not disappoint! The resort is still undergoing repairs post Hurricane Sally, but was still a fabulous stay. Our unit was just perfect—just as depicted in the pictures, and perfectly situated toward the back of the property. We could sit on the balcony and listen to music from the Tiki Bar, but was still private. Property management was great about accommodating our late arrival, and we look forward to returning in the future!

This is a great location! We were able to enjoy Perdido Key, Pensacola, and Orange Beach easily! The pool here is also wonderful! Appreciated the space, however I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the propery upon arrival. Yes, there was construction in the area, but the fans were covered in dust. Kitchen was ok, but if you plan to make breakfast bring your own pans, forks and cold water because the kitchen doesn't have cold water or pans that are worth cooking on! We highly recommend the area, and if you don't plan to really relax in the house then it is a good rental.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed July 2021 and the unit was clean but you could tell it still needed repair work from the previous seasons hurrican. We've been having our annual family beach trip at Purple Parrot for about 15 years now, and this was by far the worst upkeep and maintenance we've seen. I know there's quite a bit of renovations and repairs going on due to the recent hurricane in 2020, but there was no excuse to have the trash all over the place, gate wasn't working, grounds were not kept clean and landscaped. We had brought another family down with us (we rented 3 units) and were embarrassed for them to see the place like it was being their first time down. Hoping that 2022 is in MUCH better shape!

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house itself was fine. There was a lot of construction being done at the resort. We were only notified one week before arrival about the construction and that is not enough time to find somewhere else to stay. Our house was missing some things. Management needs to learn to respond and answer questions and concerns. I emailed twice to ask a specific question and received no response. I also did not receive any instructions about how to check in and that it was at a different location. During our stay the fire alarms starting going off and I sent a message through the site that was given to us from office and there was no response. One morning we were sleeping and the construction crew knocked on the door and woke us up. They said they needed to look in the kitchen. This should not have happen. Then another morning I was sleeping on the couch next to the front door and a worker came up and nailed a sign over the full window door. Again waking me up but also looking in. If construction is every completed the resort will be nice but Management needs to learn customer service. I am very taken back about how they did not care to answer or respond to questions or concerns. I feel like they do not care if you have a good stay, they just want your money.
