This is a great condo that you will love any time of year with great access to all Tahoe activities! Lake Village is the complex and it's amenities include a summer community pool, a year round hot tub, playground and rec-room with a pool table and ping pong! The condo is multi-level with the kitchen upstairs, mid-level living area, and downstairs bedrooms. You can sleep 8 people comfortably with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths plus a sofa sleeper in the living room. Casinos and beaches are only 3/4 of a mile away and skiing at Heavenly is only a 5-10 minute drive! amazing!
***Please note: The pool area, including the community hot tub and indoor play areas, can only be used by 6 guests at one time.***
I’ve stayed in this housing community before and loved the community pool and amenities. I was drawn to this place because of the proximity to the clubhouse as it was a short walk away. This house has potential but it looks like no one has invested anything into it in 30 years. I read a few previous reviews where they complained about the bedding and I agree! It was horrible. Pillows were paper thin and the bedding was outdated and thin. Not comfortable. The front door mat had a giant hole in the center. Just little things that wouldn’t cost a lot to replace but would make a difference. The kitchen is super outdated. The stove was horrible, the pots and pans were awful, not non stick. I’ve stayed at places in the past where there is at least salt and pepper or cooking spray and there was none of that. Not a lot of kitchen items either, never found a toaster, large plastic mixing bowls would be nice, and plastic cups to hold while walking the neighborhood. Just not functional. There was a huge gap on the kitchen counter where it ran into the wall and the window next to the kitchen also had a huge gap in it so it let in all the outside air and noise. The blinds in the house were all old and not fictional. Some of them you couldn’t even open and close and if you touched them the panels fell off. We had to get dressed in the bathroom because there was no window privacy. The house was so hot too. Hotter than outside so we mainly stayed in the lower house (bedroom area). My standards aren’t very high and I can roll with the punches but this was bad. Seems like they are collecting money and not putting any back into the house. Wouldn’t stay here again.
It was a shame to arrive at night to realize that the porch light had no light bulb. We fussed around for a while trying to unlock the door. Not a major issue but not very welcoming. The house is beautiful with wooden beams everywhere and a cozy vibe. The bedding was very dated, it reminded me of my grandma's house. As did the rest of the decor and even the kitchen appliances and tools. The coffee machine was half broken, the outdoor chairs didn't even have seat cushions. The sliding door didn't lock. The blinds broke, blocking our view. And the kitchen pots and pans were awful, like something from goodwill but worse. The drawers also squeaked super loudly, it was cringey. It was also a shame that the highway noise bothered us at night, I didn't expect that in this location. I recommend that this property is maintained better and redecorated. It just needs a bit of attention, it won't take much to really bring this place back to life. Other than that, it's a wonderful house in a great neighborhood. The amenities were also lovely in the pool house!
We had a great time at this property! Super convenient as it’s close to Heavenly and the Casinos. No complaints besides the kitchen needing a little bit of updating. A TV in the rooms would be nice to unwind but honestly, didn’t really miss it. Some new board games would be great. The ones there are super old and missing pieces so I’m glad we brought our own. The pullout mattress was more comfortable on the ground than on the pull out. That definitely needs replacement/upgrading. Definitely 8/10 for our family though!
Great place to stay for us as it was our 1st visit to Tahoe.
My only complaint was the electric stove needs to be updated otherwise it was great
I do not recommend this property unless it receives major updating. It is extremely dated, needs new beds, decor, and kitchen appliances. The beds were old, extremely soft, and very uncomfortable. The kitchen supplies are inadequate, and extremely old and cheap. The fake flower decor all over the house is covered in dust and should just be removed. There is no air conditioning in this house, and it gets EXTREMELY hot, almost unbearably. Many of the lights did not work, as well as the window blinds. I will note that were rodents in the house - we saw mouse droppings and after one night, the mice had eaten our fruit left on the counter. I understand this might be an issue in many of the units (at least that is what we were told), but that was not acceptable, and we left after one night. This cabin has a lot of potential and just needs an overhaul.
Our 2nd time at Lake Village and we will be back next year!
