Stayed Feb 25, 2023This unit did have upgrades in several areas, and would be fine if you're only looking for a place to sleep over but it just had a very sterile feeling. With fees, our total cost was over $300/night and we felt it fell short of what that price should've offered. We've stayed in many vrbo's and owned vacation rentals ourselves so we arguably consider ourselves pretty knowledgeable. As of March 2023, there were almost no art pieces on the bare white walls, the shelving was empty except for one small empty glass vase, there was no towel bar/hook in bathroom for a hand towel and no counter space on which to put toiletry items aside from the single sink. No books, board games, magazines, deck of cards, etc to be entertained with on a bad-weather day. Beds/pillows were serviceable but certainly not high-end plush. Kitchen was well stocked. Instead of a homey, cozy feeling, it appeared owners were frightened that guests would take off with decor accessories. We weren't fond of being tied to our phone the day of arrival waiting for check-in instructions and lock codes but know the scene is trending that way. There was a small pool, but really no other amenities in the condo complex that we saw. It is convenient to Old Town, and walkable to LaQuinta to look around, but sits between a hotel and a gas station which is kind of blah - neither private/remote nor urban. We did have one issue that the owner & cleaning personnel were apparently not aware that the front-end washer required regular cleaning in one area which was filled with gunk when we attempted to do laundry. Owner was responsive in providing local laundromats but did not offer any other remedies and the cleaning was not completed prior to our departure, though will likely be fine in the future. Overall, I try to not to be overly harsh, as it's not like the unit was terrible but it was just ok. I know it's California but this condo was probably amongst the 5 most expensive places we've ever stayed in our 30 years of marriage but was way outside the 5 nicest places we've stayed.

Stayed Oct 24, 2021The condo that could! It starts with the owners Karen & Jessica that are exceptional hosts. Modern design meets coziness. From the surround sound big screen TV's to an amazing multi- mode shower with steam and mood lighting. One great experience, will be back!
