We stayed at the Marlin House for 5 days for our annual trip to the Florida Keys. The property could have been great, but the combination of negative experiences and inadequate response to our issues ruined our visit. Issues: - stained, ripped and discolored bath towels - stained comforter and pillows - smell of smoke in the closet with the linens - cockroaches in the master bedroom on multiple occasions - listing showed pictures of backyard patio, but property only included the second floor balcony that overlooked backyard area Property manager response to issues: - Towels - it’s difficult to get into the unit to replace or update linens - bugs - it’s Florida and bugs, including cockroaches, are to be expected. We treat the property as needed and could have come to the property during your stay. - backyard patio - the owner wanted to show the view. We will update the listing. In all of our 20+ years traveling to the Keys (or anywhere else for that matter, we have never experienced cockroaches in a hotel, VRBO or any other property. And finally, when we gave the property manager an opportunity to make things right, his response was “maybe if you stay at another one of our properties, we can give you a discount.” Not sure why he would expect that we would be confident the other properties would be managed any better. We will be back to the Florida Keys in the future, but will never stay at a Star Properties Destinations again.
We visited the keys for our family summer vacation. The house had everything we needed and great amenities. Highly recommend for all age groups!
Very pretty - the room and grounds. The pool was great! We don't think the jets worked on the tub. Not sure how we were to get to the back patio without having to walk all the way around and through the backs of other condos. Didn't quite feel right to go through the garage which was filled with owners belongings so we just stayed out of the garage completely.
We love staying at the Mariner’s Club, but this unit is our least favorite so far. The unit has nice appliances, a screened in porch, and was very well cleaned. My complaints stem from how the property was outfitted. The master bedroom shower curtain needs to be replaced — it was mildewy and had a few tears in it. The bath towels were old, frayed, and had some minor stains. The property manager supplies a “starter pack” of detergent for the dishwasher and laundry, but they require you to use it when you start the dishes and laundry when you check out. All together, it left me with a negative impression of the property management. If this is the only place you can find at Mariner’s Club, it’s still worth it, but definitely not my first choice.
The home was so nicely decorated. Perfe t location we brought our boat 12 hours and was able to put it in a boat slip. We didnt want to leave
This property is in a great location with BEAUTIFUL pool area. The unit itself was well appointed and very comfortable. Plenty of space to sit in not only the living room but for dining as well. Property manager was great answered all my questions prior to arrival and checked in to make sure we had what we needed for our boat. Overall great experience. The Pros: Both pools are within walking distance from this unit. Super close to restaurants and shopping on rainy days. Plenty of items in the kitchen, anything you want is in that kitchen! Open floor plan makes easy for everyone to hang out Balcony has retractable doors so it basically becomes part of the living room. It was wonderful to sit out there in the mornings. The Cons: It backs up to the main road , one bedroom hears traffic at night. Master bedroom bed is super soft, this may be a pro for some people just not me LOL Master bedroom has a jetted tub that someone has put a shower head in the ceiling to make it a shower as well. Not great water pressure and very high side to step over to shower but totally functional. Unattended children running around pool and taking over the hot tubs
Very good. Met the owner of our unit and he was great. He was staying in the downstairs unit. He offered us the use of any of his beach toys for the kids in our group.
We all enjoyed staying at this location and associated resort. The condo was spacious and very nice. We really enjoyed the complex, especially the pool located near the ocean. Pretty big and nicely landscaped with lots of shady spots. The condo is centrally located in Key Largo as well. Would definitely stay here again.
The property was a great experience. The only negative is that I was surprised by the VrBo fee, separate from all the other costs...perhaps I did not read the fine print carefully enough when booking...but seeing an additional $230 charge on my card was an unexpected surprise. My friend booked a VrBo for the next 4 days in the Fla Keys and...no additional surprise fee, everything was included in the price he paid...otherwise, must repeat, the stay was great & so was the service...
We had a great stay! Beautiful pool, loved the pickleball court they provide the equipment. Went fishing off the dock and saw a manatee and sting rays! Would definitely recommend!
