Stayed Aug 7, 2018The room was way bigger than expected. I loved being able to go on the balcony. The unit was very clean and everyone in the hotel was so nice. I was shocked when someone came to the door for housekeeping and cleaned the room because that wasnt supposed to be included. The hotel was really close to the beach and the hotel pool and sauna are also nice. Overall great experience.

Stayed Jul 13, 2018This is our second stay at the Royal Gardens and it was as lovely as the first. It is quiet enough to relax, comfortable for a studio and we love the balcony. We could see from the ocean, around to the confluence of Honolulu and Waikiki and then the hills. We enjoyed having our meals out on the balcony; early morning reading and just relaxing. We had senior bus passes so we could travel short but maybe tiring distances on the bus for free. But we also enjoyed a couple of shows. Rock-a-hula an Elvis Tribute show with Hawaiian backdrop was wonderful, probably one of the best Elvis Tribute shows we have seen. We also saw the Magic of Hawaii and some of those tricks boggles the mind. I can't even imagine how they were done. At the resort we used the media room as I was working on genealogy. It was perfect, large, airy with a printer right there. We discovered Cheeseburger Restaurant on Kalakua near the Diamond Head area. It had open air windows and was just across the street from the beach so fun to watch the surfers, etc.
