Mars Hill, North Carolina
It is a beautiful, fully furnished, one-bedroom condominium with a private balcony and nice view! There is a small grill on the deck and a brand new pull-out sofa which increases the sleeping capacity from 2 to 4. L101 is located on the lower floor of the condo building so there are no stairs to climb. In the winter, enjoy the propane log fireplace after spending the day on the ski slopes which is just a 5 minute dirve away. In the summer, head to the Nature Trail and hike to the top of Bald Mountain which is part of the Appalachian Trail and provides a breathtaking view! The new owner of this condo has a Country Club social membership which, depending on the pandemic status, should give our renters access to meals within the club. He is also a member of the Village Amenities. No pets, please.
Easy check in, clean, very very comfortable bed
Very quiet & peaceful. I was able to just wind down & get ready for the holiday!
Wonderful place to stay with a great view and comfy bed. Everything was great and exactly how it was shown/listed. My only recommendation is to list what is expected of guests before they book. At the end of your stay you're expected to wash towels and linens, wash dishes, and take out the trash (which is like a 15 minute drive down the mountain). And check out is at 10am. I understand it's important to take care of the property and get these chores done, but it was kinda a lot to expect of guests while they are on vacation, especially if the stay is only a few days. I would be ok with it if we were staying long term or at least a week maybe, but for a few days not even hotels expect you to do these things. Over all it was still a great time though and we would visit again. Just wish this info was provided before booking, and not the day of check-in when we picked up the keys to the property.
We were very happy to find that gem. The place is in a great location and had super nice views. It is an easy drive to national parks and attractions. Can not wait to come back.
The rental property was very nice. Beautiful mountain sights and sounds. Nice leather sofa and comfortable king size bed. The internet and TV worked fine with clear reception. Our issues involved the check-in process, the trash removal, and the fact that there were towels left in the dryer from the previous tenant which we then had to deal with. And one roll of toilet paper for 2 adults for 5 days is not enough in any universe. I have stayed in other VRBO properties and the owners have always checked in multiple times throughout our stay. Some baked us cookies and some left bowls of candy and drink. We never heard even once from either the owner or the property manager during our stay. It is expected that you will launder sheets/towels and deliver your trash to a site a few miles away. Personally I do not go on vacation to do what I am paying someone else to do when I rent their property. We are clean people and respectful of someone else’s things and property but I felt like I was being punished for bad experiences the owner may have had with other guests.
We want to go again. Sunrise on deck. Walk to golf clubhouse.
Property management was not at all professional. Owner communicated with us immediately & gave us all the information we needed to have a nice stay. Thanks to her.
If you want a deck with the quintessential Blue Ridge view, this is the place. Great indoors and out. Nice living space with fireplace, cute decor, great views and deer in the yard!
Had a nice time and the Quality was very good. Maybe a little outdated, but everything works and was very cozy
The unit had everything we needed. Hosts were responsive to our questions. Beautiful view from the deck. We would love to stay again.
Pros- Exactly as pictured, good Wi-Fi, washer and dryer in condo- nice to not have to take a suitcase of dirty hiking clothes home. The view from the deck is beautiful. Cons- The listing indicates a pool and A/C, but the unit does not include access to the community pool. Although there are ceiling fans, there is no A/C. It’s cooler on the mountain, so probably not an issue for most. Overall we would stay here again as the unit worked well for us.
