Black Rock is believed by ancient Hawaiians to be the site from which their spirits 'jumped off' or left this world to join their ancestors. The Black Rock area is highly popular for snorkeling and scuba diving as the rock forms a great reef wall attracting turtles and hundreds of beautiful tropical fish. From our Lanai, you can enjoy the legendary torch lighting and cliff diving from Black Rock everynight before sunset. Making your next visit to Kaanapali Beach a truly memorable one.

    This is a great unit with an amazing view. The view of Black Rock was awesome to look at every time we looked outside. The easy access to the beachfront walkway was very nice. The pool area was very nice. Many great restaurants within easy walking distance. Starbucks at the Westin was less than a 5 minutes walk. Overall this is an amazing unit and we would definitely return in the future.

    This will be our 7th year back at the whaler and this is the first year we had an issue- the room was great and service and communication all good but unfortunately a couple days before our trip we were told the patio would be “limited” access for construction work- we paid extra for the higher floor and view and to not be able to open the curtains without seeing workers looking from the hours of 8-5 or sit on the patio was unfortunate all around. As for the hours it was “open” the railings were covered soYou had no view if you were sitting in a chair. And further the coverings have been there a while- they are dusty and gross and covered in bird poop so the patio was completely not accessible and the view was not existent. We still love the whaler but did not get the value of the price we paid for the view and patio. We could have saved a lot of money going lower floors with no view because that is what we had for a much higherPrice .

    The per diem amenities fee is not mentioned in the listing and is significantly more than stated on the rental agreement; the apartment itself has a musty/moldy smell; the WiFi did not work for the duration of our stay. That said, it is a great location with a beautiful view.

    The studio is in a prime spot in Maui, offering a breathtaking view of Black rock and easy access to nearby beaches, restaurants, and shopping. It's nestled in a serene and peaceful area, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The studio is cozy yet spacious enough for a comfortable stay. The furnishings are tasteful and well-maintained, providing a sense of luxury without feeling overly extravagant. The bed is comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep after a day of exploring the island. Staying in this studio was an absolute delight. I look forward to staying here again on our next visit to Maui.
