Great location. Right on the beach and a about a mile from Heavenly. Great space inside, but the rooms are older. Air conditioner didn't work very well, so it was pretty hot during the afternoon. Checking in was a bit confusing because although Vacasa sends you the elock code, you still need to ask the front desk for the location of the room, parking, and pool/gym/sauna elock codes. Booking through Expedia was easy, but because they are affiliated with Vacasa and VRBO, you can't get extra towels and other amenities from the front desk.
Condo is in a great location, we were unfortunately there during an unusually hot time and the unit is not equipped with the proper air conditioner for that kind of weather. Knowing this was unusual weather, we made the best of it and enjoyed our time in S Lake Tahoe. There was also a lot of construction going on around the property, it would have been nice to know that in advance. Also, good directions when staying in the main lodge would have been less stressful as well. Despite a few stresses, we did have a good time.
We were concerned when we pulled up to the building and it was in disrepair on the outside. The breezeway to the unit is need of paint and a large common window is partially repaired. The unit was dark, poorly lighted and had a smell that kept both of use awake until early morning hours when we had to close windows due to cool temperatures. It did not face the lake but a busy highway highway that had vehicle noise all night. The smell was in our throats and we knew we could not stay there. Plaster was missing above the kitchen floorboards. Next to Thebes was a used band aid and the sheets had collected dust near the floor. To their credit, Vacasa remedied our situation quickly and placed us in a wonderful home a few miles away. I would not recommend a stay here until it is remodeled.
Stayed for few days to go skiing. Plenty of amenities to enjoy and it was close to restaurants. Could use a bigger fridge but other than that it was clean and cozy.
Adds showed rentals on the beach, then we got there and it was an old condo on the highway and under remodel, wish we could have gotten a discount
Wonderful location
The property has been around since the 70’s but has aged gracefully. Nothing beats the location and amenities of Lakeland Village. The manager was so kind and helpful, we really couldn’t have asked for more.
Unit needs updating , not a good value for amenities and thought it was too expensive
Good unit. Looks a little worn, but fit our needs nicely. Beds are a little soft.
Loved the location and amenities! The condo had everything we needed except coffee for the first day and coffee filters for the coffee maker. We bought filters and coffee and left them there. Loved the beach access!
Pros: I loved the little community, from meeting new people at the shared pools, hot tubs to the private pier/beach area. No excessive or late night noise. Beautiful sunset view and great spots to relax. Close to stores, restaurants and walking distance to the beach and Thursdays live mini concerts. My teens also felt safe and comfortable around the community there, swimming areas- to getting snacks and refreshments and when it was laundry duty day. I like the old antique decorations at the condo, I don’t mind it. The family boardgames we’re awesome to have. Cooking utensils available and all was in working order and loved it, since I like to cook and don’t like to eat out a lot. I also liked there was extra cleaning products left since I like to re-clean most things. This is just for my peace of mind the condo was clean. Now Cons: The place does get really stuffy and had to leave the balcony doors open to get fresh air circulating in. I felt suffocated. I love windows that open. There was only one, that does not open. I don’t like the AC noice so I didn’t even bother using it nor the fans, they looked old. The condo is located on the 3rd floor and on the the side of the lodge we’re there is no elevator. This was a painful challenge to work with towards the end of my vacation there since I ended up in crutches and needed to also use a luggage cart. It was a challenge with the parking too. This condo is located on the side of the lodge that is the oldest looking. The other side that looks newer is the one with all the easy access and newer updates. Some” pillows and blankets were stained. I Always take my own on vacations as I know not all can be perfect, so that came In handy. The cleaning team was awesome! understanding, always ready to help and guide the best they can, they reply back to text messages fast.
This place was clean and neat enough and very convenient in the South Lake Tahoe area to get to all you want, hiking, restaurants, the lake. It is on the noisy side of the building, more like hotel style as you walk down a hall in the main building to get there. It was fine for our sleeping and breakfast, but we would not have wanted to hang out during the day due to the noise, same for being on the little patio. There is no good light during the day as well, but it did serve our purpose for a few days while in the area. We could not find the silverware so asked for some to be delivered, then found it in what seemed an unusual place to us. We also had to request wash cloths, there were plenty of towels, including beach towels.
