Keauhou Akahi 405: 2-Bedroom Condo with Garden View in Keauhou, HI

We really enjoyed our stay at Keauhou Akahi. The condo was clean, had a very simple check in and check out, with a well equipped kitchen. We were thankful for the a/c at night in July, it cooled off the condo nicely. Beautiful pool, too :)

It was nice to be close to Kona, but not IN Kona, as this location afforded us a more serene setting.

Nice condo. View from the balcony was amazing with a view of the ocean. Even saw whales breaching off shore. Close to a nice mall withh restaurants.

The apartment was dated but had all of the things we needed to be our base for a 12-day stay with 2 kids under 12. The floors were always somewhat dusty, and our feet were black. A vacuum cleaner was provided, but some wet mops would have come in handy. The laundry appliances and kitchen made our stay comfortable and convenient.Furnishings did not all match listing, some pieces were removed. The second sofa pictured in the living room was not there. The bed in the second bedroom had a thinner mattress and uneven bed platform, but our kids slept ok in them.Two portable ac units were provided. We only turned them on for short periods of time to cool the rooms as needed (they were loud). The kids enjoyed the clean community pool every day and had it mostly to themselves, it was never crowded. We drove everywhere. The location is next to a highway with no sidewalks.

The unit was nice but a few issues. Furniture was stripped down to bare minimum, it was obvious they were trying to sell unit. We actually bought floor lamps for the unit. There was a problem with bugs. We kept all food sealed and in the refrigerator, but bedrooms, living room and kitchen had bugs. We have stayed at other Akahi units and never had an issue.

This place has a beautiful view and perfect location. We enjoyed our home away from home. Lots of extras in kitchen and outdoor stuff. Tommy bahama beach chairs that you could load with drinks and carry on your back like a back pack. Very clean. The neighbours were quiet for most part. Gardeners work on property steady.

Not much noise in complex. Unit had everything you could possibly need, including snorkeling gear, beach shoes, chairs, and coolers. It even had a coffee grinder which came in very handy. Property and complex are well taken care of. Would definitely stay here again. Keauhou shopping plaza had everything you could need. Sam Choy's has a million dollar view of the sunset for dinner, as does the balcony. This place was worth the money

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: There is no BBQ for cooking. The neighbors are very bored old people with nothing better to do than complain about noise. We were being quiet and they complained directly and indirectly. There is no hot tub at the pool. If you can get past these things beautiful view, great location next to gold course. Property Mgr is good. Also the showers have no shower head with handle that you can hold and move around you body. A big miss for me. I love Kona and the Big Island.
