Loved the view wished blinds would go up so we could see better . The stairs were old and leaning to the left . Very cute and cozy . Only one wine glass and coffee cups could be bigger . The stairs were a killer but great place
The main thing you need to know is that the listing and its photos are accurate in depicting the space. It is well-appointed and cozy, and I don't mean cozy as a euphemism for cramped. Our family of two adults and two teens felt very comfortable. I could imagine a space like this being spartan and coldly modern. I could imagine it being Victorian and overstuffed. Whoever decorated here struck a perfect balance in making visitors feel at home. There is some inconsistency in the detail you'll see in the listing versus the detail you receive upon confirmation and then check-in. Most significantly, depending upon what you've read, as of Dec. 2023 the apartment does *not* have dedicated parking out back. This wasn't a problem for us, but you wouldn't want it to be a last-minute surprise.
Very cozy and loved the feel! Will for sure stay again! Only recommendation is to have a better hand held can opener :) But we really love this place!
The first thing I noticed was the open refrigerator and the take out container with a dirty fork inside. There were crumbs and a used toothpick on the placemats. The glass table, counters, and stove top were dirty. There was marijuana on the coffee table, hair in the sheets, hair in the dirty sink, a dirty toilet seat and bowl, hair in the dirty bathroom sink, used soap and toiletries in the shower, the mirror had white toothpaste spots all over it, and the bathroom floor was dirty. There were dishes in the dishwasher. AND my son found an insulin pen under his bed. I also found more pot in the master bedroom when I bent down to tie my shoes. Vacasa has a link through VRBO to their site and their cleaning protocols. They most definitely DID NOT wipe ANYTHING down and the dust bunnies under the bed are proof that they DO NOT thoroughly clean everything as stated on their website link. I had to wash our bed linens. Vacasa did send over towels. (They were brand new and I had to wash them as well). There was ONE coffee pod. The Vacasa employee brought more coffee pods with the towels, BUT they were ALL caramel apple flavored and there were no creamers. The apartment itself is close to PERFECT. The location is EXCELLENT. The decor is charming and the natural lighting is very nice. The furniture is comfortable. The kitchen is well designed and I love the hutch. It is the kind of place where you just feel happy (when it's clean). The only flaws there are minor and would be that the living room blinds do not go up (thus obstructing the view) and there is no toilet paper holder in the master bathroom (which had two half used rolls of TP sitting on a stand. Am I the only one who doesn't want to stick my hand in a used-by-strangers roll of TP in order to use it myself?). Had it been clean - I would have given it 5 stars overall. Perhaps this place being dirty was a fluke, but I am NOT AT ALL impressed with Vacasa as a host. They did refund my cleaning fee, but I feel like they should compensate me for the hassle and unprofessional service. Good luck communicating with them if you ever have a problem. I have a feeling though that the next guests may find it spotless since I sent pictures of what we found. Perhaps the owner should guard his investment and this ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC apartment and hire someone local who takes pride in their work to clean it and keep it stocked. In the future, I will only stay with owner hosts.
We loved the location and how close it was to everything in town. We were able to walk around downtown and enjoy the beautiful area. Please note that there is no designated parking so parking can be troublesome at peak times. We had to park and walk then move our car after hours. Overall a good space!
Great location, very cute. If the fireplace had been working, or if the Vacasa team had given any response when I reported it upon check-in, I would have given a higher rating.
This second story apartment is beautifully decorated. We loved exploring the shops in downtown Waynesville and this apartment was perfectly located to do just that. It was a decent drive (30 minutes) from WCU (college) to visit our oldest child and that worked out just fine. The only problem we had was that the TV didn’t have any sound and we enjoy watching a show in the evenings to unwind.
Females need a shower cap for the shower here. This place is cozy and cute but is getting a little dated. Sheets were t
Very clean, some charming furnishings - but in disrepair (5 issues, including a nail tip sticking up from a floorboard!). Made a request that at least needed lightbulbs be provided. There was no available ice - trays wouldn’t hold water! Lighting & ice issues were not taken care of, after making the request. One should know there is only one closet in the main bedroom. Tiny second bathroom - would not recommend for four adults. We would not consider this place again.
My rental had a water main fail and had no water upon arrival. vacasa quickly comped me a rental without any extra costs
Location is perfect. Home itself is comfortable and quiet. Twin beds are comfy - queen is super hard. All the pillows and the couch are real feathers so the folks out there with allergies may want to take note. I did not realize until I got there how non-kid friendly the home is. The way it is decorated and all is not for young kids or toddlers. I spent the first hour of the stay rearranging things so that they wouldn’t be reachable or broken. The stairs going up to the apartment are steep and pretty uneven. It’s a very old building after all but just prepare yourself for that. My elderly mother would have had an extremely hard time going up and down the stairs. For couples or solo travelers or even families with older children (over age 5?), it is perfect.
Very quaint. Walking distance to lots of unique stores and restaurants.
Everything went well, furniture needs upgrade and wifi at 2g is very slow for streaming and no cable
Tastefully decorated, comfortable, and great location.
Loved the inside , tastefully decorated, sheets were so soft and beds comfortable. Kleenex & a long mirror would be nice addition.
Charming second floor apartment on main street in Waynesville. Accommodations were well suited for a couple or small family.
everything was great would stay again. things that need attention! shower water gets on the floor/ ref. ice maker not working when on to make ice water runs inside/ router for internet jumps in and out (thanks)
Centrally located in Waynesville where you can walk to restaurants, stores and pubs.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is perfect with an easy walk to restaurants and stores. It's also a great central location to getting to just about anywhere in town with a short drive.
Conveniently located in downtown Waynesville, highly recommended.
This is an adorable downtown loft ! Immaculate, well furnished ! I would definitely stay there again . Only constructive advice is the unit is very hard to find . I spent almost 45 min trying to locate the door . For ease of future renters please look for Tammy’s Jewelry, the door to the loft is tucked inside a cubby right outside their door . Very nice store !!!
