Hale Kamaole 213 Second floor condo, easy access to best beach on Maui!

I have stayed at this condo facility before and I enjoy the location. Condo was easily accessible with the code access, which was much easier to coordinate late entry than a key. Condo was also well maintained by housekeeping. Furniture and linens were dated, but as a fairly inexpensive unit, this was not surprising. I also appreciated all the beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, towels, etc.) that were in the unit.

We had an issue with the washing machine but a maintenance worker was there promptly to fix it. Overall we were very pleased.

The condo stunk when we walked in, carpet in bedroom stained. Bathroom carpets and towels were old and worn out. Baseboards, lights and walls still dirty. The tv and ceiling and railing needed repairs. The toaster doesn’t work. The staff fixed some of the issues but never did clean the carpets while we were there as promised. The place is a little tired and needs to have new brought in. It is a great condo complex, we have stayed at another unit several times before and loved it and the area.

We arrived at 4:45 pm and checked in at the office. Nobody notified us of the condo problem. We took our luggage to 117 and entered the code we had been given. Entry refused. Tried again. Same result. Tried a third time. Same result. Went back to office (now closed) and used outside phone to call manager. Spoke with Nathan and was told 117 could not be occupied because of a major water leak. We were told to go to unit 213 (not a ground floor unit, as we had requested) for an indeterminate period of time. This turned put to be 6 days before another ground floor unit was found, unit 140. It was OK, but not the unit and location we had expected.

tv is going out.. dishwasher does not wash...carpet is in bad shape in bedroom...we love the complex and have been staying here since 1984...many visits...we may be too picky...spoiled
