Horrible beds. Spending over $1200 ish a night and too much to get even 10 min “late check” out without by getting harassed by a property manager to “leave the property because house cleaning needs to get in” @ 10am even though next check in is at 3pm. I understand early/late check in/out but for 10 ish minutes don’t need to get harassed even though cleaners aren’t even there yet Place is old and dingy inside anyway Wouldn’t stay again especially at that price point. Maybe $400-500/night
Amazing property with great views. Needs a little handy man work on some items in the home but overall a great sty.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The Hamilton Cove community has great amenities like pool/jacuzzi and gym. Great playground for the kids. Having the golf cart to get around is a big plus.
The condo and the complex were as advertised. The property management was very prompt, however, the lock on the main door did not work for the entire stay despite maintenance trying to fix it. We were concerned when leaving for the day, but nothing was disturbed when we returned. Also the golf cart is old and needs to be repaired as we always had a problem when applying the brake to park and we always rolled back before going forward. Otherwise the place is beautiful and the views were great. The amenities were also very good- mini golf, tennis, pool, work out room and the waterfront area. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.
This was a perfect spot for us to take our 2 adult offspring and their spouses for a celebration of our 50th wedding anniversary. The villa was very spacious with 3 separate rooms with bathrooms. It also was nice that tennis rackets, putters, and a croquet set was included for use of the courts and putting green area. We were glad to have the 6-seater golf cart for traveling back and forth to Avalon for sightseeing, dining, and other recreational activities. Overall, we found the property to be topnotch and had a wonderful time.
I booked Saturday, May 7 for the weekend of May 13. I received a series of contracts from the property manager on Sunday, May 8. One of the contracts stated I did not purchase insurance, which I did, through VRBO. I of course wasn’t comfortable signing a document that stated I did not have insurance but I signed all others on Monday May 9. I responded to their email at the email address specified to contact and said as much. I did not hear back except for booking confirmations and access details. The day before checkin I was asked for a picture of my credit card and drivers license, which I’ve never been asked for before and I’ve rented many places via rental sites. I sent it. Friday afternoon I received a message that I needed to sign the contract that stated I did not have insurance. I let them know, again I wasn’t comfortable signing the document. My only other option was that they would cancel the reservation. The day I am supposed to check in. These are unscrupulous and underhanded business practices. At this point I’ve already paid for and arranged travel, I’d be out the funds I paid for insurance as well as VRBO fees and with no place to stay. I was also asked for the names of the children I would have with me. Also an irregular request. I was not given details on how to get to the home. I did a google map to Hamilton Cove and I saw it was a 5 minute walk from the dock. So I walked, with 4 kids ages 4-12, the 5 minutes, which turned out to be the property manager office which was closed for the day. No one responded to calls or texts from 5:00 pm Friday through Sunday. I walked back to the boat dock, with all 4 kids in tow, to see if anyone there could help me. I was instructed by the kind people at Catalina Express that I would need a taxi and how to go about getting a taxi in Catalina. We finally got to the house and it was underwhelming to say the least. There’s no air conditioning and many of the windows are broken and won’t open to allow proper air circulation. There were 2 bars of soap, smaller than the palm of my hand for the whole house. No shampoo, no conditioner, no body wash, no basic essentials, such as enough coffee for the first morning, a couple of laundry pods in case they are needed, baking sheets to use in the oven, a few bottles of water, NOTHING. The walls were filthy, the wifi speed was 6.54 Mbps when it worked and no cell service.
Easy and clear communication- had a great stay!
We came here last minute and it was a perfect place for our annual new year’s trip. The views are amazing! It was a quiet time on the island which was just what we wanted. The whole place was very clean. All the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The 6-person golf cart (which we named our Cherry Chariot) was great for trips to town. There were a few maintenance items that could be taken care of (lightbulbs that needed replaced, toilet roll holders missing, towel rings that were broken and one bathroom did not have a hairdryer). Definitely not deal breakers, but it would be nice to have them taken care of. A sheet with instructions for the house would have been helpful too. All in all though we love staying at Hamilton Cove and will be back again!
Great place to stay with excellent views.
We loved every minute and will be back
Great place. Some might not like being out of walking distance to shops and restaurants, but golf cart was beast.
