The property is very unique, beautifully furnished and meticulously kept. Truly a lovely experience, and we hope to return again soon.
House is beautiful. It is historic and there is more than enough space, towels and linens. Kitchen is functional with updated appliances, cleaning materials and supplies. The host was most polite and communicative prior to the stay, and I appreciated her area recommendations. Things we did not like: Do not rent this property if you want to pay a $150 cleaning fee for three nights ($250 for two) and then get charged an additional $95 fee for not VACUUMING the carpets and MOPPING the floors (this is a 3 level house with 3 bedrooms/a great room!). Beds are expected to be made, with linens grouped and towels grouped together (ok, fine). Garbage must be taken out and sorted. We wiped down all surfaces, made the beds, sorted the linens and put dirty towels in the laundry room. What is the original cleaning fee for? No where on the page does it say No Bachelorette Parties, yet that is apparently an issue, even though we left it tidy (granted we did not mop or vacuum, but still). It says parties and events allowed. I also communicated that this was a girls weekend. There were no further questions related to what type of weekend it was. There was a rotting onion in a kitchen drawer, dirty storage containers (looked like there were bagels of some sort prior), and the refrigerator was 54 degrees (too warm for a fridge) upon arrival. The property itself is lovely and quaint, however, the communication post check out should have been communicated PRIOR to accepting us as renters.
Absolutely loved our stay here. House is exactly as pictured and location can’t be beat. Contrary to other reviews, we found the beds to be perfectly comfortable and not oddly wrapped. Really hope to return, thanks so much for sharing this beautiful and unique space !
The location of this place was perfect, and we loved the character of it. We had a few issues, though. One was that we did not know we needed to bring blankets. We expected to bring sheets and towels, as most Cape May places require this. The listing said linens were not provided, but we have never had to bring blankets before. This was a problem since we were flying in from Texas and fitting Queen size blankets plus sheets and towels in our suitcases would be difficult. We ended up renting them from a service at the last minute once the check-in info revealed we needed blankets, too. We also had no shower curtain in one of the bathrooms or mat, so we had to go looking for these (found curtain in dryer finally), and some of the beds were crunchy because of the wrapping around the mattress. Also, we felt that check-out instructions asking us to vacuum and sweep were a bit harsh, considering we had already paid a cleaning charge and the nightly price of the place is quite steep. Overall, it's a great place, but a few amenities and fewer demands from the owners would have made it much better.
Glorious Cape May was exactly as advertised. Photos were spot on! Walk to beach was a block more than I pictured in my head, but the walk was enjoyable every time. Beach chairs and a cart were available for use - thank you! The ensuite bathrooms made everyone's room choices easy and the 1/2 bathroom in the great room was a plus for those sleeping on the trundles. Kitchen was well-equipped and the wet-bar off the main entrance was helpful when packing and unpacking the cooler for the beach as well as grabbing a cold drink before bed! Parking was ample and there were always open spaces on nearby streets. Walking to everything was another wonderful aspect of the location and you really don't appreciate something like that until you experience the convenience of it. I would say the only negative were the later check-in time and early check-out times for cleaning and sanitizing, which is understandable. Absolutely on our list of places to vacation again!
We had an excellent vacation and really loved the beauty of the property. The location worked out great for us and we really enjoyed our stay. I think if the third bedroom would have been more comfortable as a bedroom with a bed and not as an office. The outside space was very nice and we enjoyed being outside very much. We had a couple of things that needed to be taken care of and they were done in a prompt manner. Thank you. We truly enjoyed our vacation very much. We all loved the fact that the bedrooms were on the street level so no carrying heavy luggage upstairs. Terrific! The location made it so convenient to ride bike or walk anywhere. Thank you for great vacation memories this summer in your beautiful home. I loved reading about the history too. M. P.
The property is wonderful for this house. Everything was accurate to the pictures. We had plenty of room for everyone. I especially loved the private courtyard. The house is very close to town and just a short walk to the beach. The two parking spaces are very convenient. No fighting for parking, which is hard to come by in town. Caroline was very responsive to my messages. We had a great week.
Absolutely beautiful unique property. Fully equipped with everything you need. Great location! Far enough from the beach to avoid the craziness but an easy walk. Everything was very walkable. The stores and restaurants on Washington St. where a 2 minute walk and Acme was as well.
We enjoyed the architectural elements of this rental It was a great and unique place to stay
Can’t be any closer to everything in Cape May. Great for families. Very cool to stay in a renovated church.
The property was wonderful! The stained glass windows and details in each room were lovely. The transept window was exceptional in the great room. The private patio was nice. We could walk everywhere. It was a great getaway.
We liked the property, clean and very convenient to all. The owner was very responsive and cooperative in our questions and rental Process.
