Beds were comfortable. Convenient center location on the island. Condo was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Highly recommend staying here!
We have been coming to Holiday Isle for many many years. Some of the units are packed with extras, and some very basic. This unit was very basic, but appropriate for our needs. Beds were extremely comfy! There were some basic beach/pool toys in the box on balcony. It is located directly above pool area, so can be loud at times. For older folks or anyone with disability, it is quite a long walk to the beach. A/C not cooling on arrival, and with some prompting was resolved by next evening. The gym now has unusual hours - 9am-3pm, 18yrs or older, and have to go to front desk downstairs to get entry to gym on 2nd floor. Night staff are not as professional as they used to be, and allowed two couples to remain down at the pool staggering drunk, harassing other guests and kids in the pool and that were going and coming to and from the boardwalk entrance - one lady of the four was passing out and throwing up poolside, they were all cussing. Tennis court locked up, shut down, and dilapidated. Not as classy as it used to be. This was probably our last year at Holiday Isle. The lady at the front desk in the mornings was a breath of fresh air.
The property was exactly as listed. Very clean, had all the amenities for cooking and items required for the beach. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The cleaning staff kept the property very clean, especially considering guests spend all day tracking sand in from the beach. The beach itself was beautiful. I spent 30 days here and loved every minute. I’ll be back for sure. A few other reviews mentioned the walk to the beach being long. I did not find it to be a problem at all. However if you have trouble walking or have small children, I could see it being more challenging. The only other consideration is there is no real grocery store on the island. The one that is there is limited selection and the prices are outrageous. I knew this going in and planned for it. Once a week I made the 30 minute trip to Walmart in Tillman’s corner and bought for the week. The seclusion of the island is what made it so appealing to me. Not lots of traffic and the beaches were not over crowded. Even on Memorial Day there was plenty of room. Loved this place!
Had an amazing time. Location and facilities are awesome.
We loved the condo and the island. The view from the balcony was beautiful but walk to the beach was WAY further than we had expected. We ended up going to the end of the island to the public access beach instead of making that walk to the beach from the condo again. Way better!
Great place to stay but the walk to the beach is not for everyone. Deck needs to be longer. Expect to get a workout.
We really enjoyed our stay
The online picture and description of the property was spot on! We loved our view from our deck. We were even pleasantly surprised to find beach gear there for us to use. Enjoyed our stay very much!
The condo is in a great location with a couple of shops and restaurants across the street. Beautiful view. Close to elevator. I would suggest bringing your own bath towels, the ones provided are small and rough. We really enjoyed our stay. We definitely recommend.
We were able to do things with our son he had never done before and he had a wonderful time. He enjoyed the beach, the pool, Fort Gains. There are just so many activities to keep people busy and then to have a lovely home to be able to relax and seek refuge in was wonderful. Thank you
We loved the condo and the view. My only issues were the distance to the beach. My 82 year old Nana was with us and she never made it to the beach bc of the distance. Also, they closed the pool down mid week and we had no access to the outdoor pool. No warning or anything. Just closed it down!
We loved the small town feel—- a few restaurants, gas station groceries, a ferry ride to the Gulf Shore tourist haven. The condo was perfect with a great view and beach access and beautifully decorated with all the amenities. A natural setting to enjoy the beach and a place to view the sea life in the Alabama Aquarium on the island.
We enjoyed the beach and the condo was perfect. Not a lot going on in April, but we made the best of it and just relaxed.
