    Loved, loved, loved the condo location and views. Condo was comfortable except after walking around barefoot for a couple hours, our feet were black. I mean turned a wash rag black, not just a little dirt. We were already unpacked so we didn’t want someone coming in and cleaning but we should have let them. We had to wear shoes the whole time even in the bathroom where the bath mat turned black when wiping up water from the shower. Also, wish there was a keurig coffee maker so we could have used the kcups we brought. We will definitely go back to this resort and/or location. Just disappointing we were charged a substantial cleaning fee and cleaners are obviously not mopping floors. And there was a request for a tip for the cleaners. We passed on that!

    The ideal vacation getaway! El Matador is the last condo unit before reaching the protected dunes on Okaloosa Island. That meant pristine beaches west of our condo and far less beach goers than on the other end of the island. 435 was on the third floor, high enough to see the beach and ocean over the dunes. The condo was perfect as well. The kitchen had all the necessary appliances, bowls, plates and utensils. (The only two items missing were a cutting board and paper towels.) The floor was well swept but not mopped. We got dirty feet and soiled socks but I reported that to the management. The mattress was extremely plush and restful. We're used to a firm mattress but adjusted to it. The furniture in the living room was quite comfortable too. Location-wise, it was perfect for a beach vacation. The property overall was very clean and security was pleasant and professional. If we had neighbors, we never heard them! Being at the end of the built-up portion of the island meant that there was nothing within walking distance. That was fine for us but something potential guests should know. The closest market was a Tom Thumb gas station (without gas pumps), a mile away. For dining, here's a tip. Stewby's is on the other end of Santa Rosa Blvd and is the best. Call in your order and pick it up to-go. Otherwise, you'll be covered in sweat after waiting in line outside! We never go to the same place twice for a vacation. I guess we'll be breaking that rule. Going back soon!!!
