Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The rental property was clean and was ideally located right next to the beach. The beds and furniture were very comfortable, and all of the essentials were in good working order. The check-in process was a bit odd, as we arrived on a Sunday, and the office was closed. We were guided by the on-site security to a lock box for our keys and information about the property, and had to go to the office on Monday to do a formal check in. Not a problem...just a little odd, because some information about the property and the surrounding area would have been helpful. My only proposals for improvement regarding the rental property itself are very minor. I would suggest perhaps having a Keurig available, as opposed to the provided coffee maker, since most people don't make full pots of coffee anymore. Also, perhaps some instructions regarding the television and sound system in the unit would be helpful, as there were about 6 remotes, and it was difficult figuring out which one operated which tv, and I never did figure out the sound system. Regardless, our stay was very enjoyable, and we would definitely return to The Matador in the future.

Love the complex and location of property.

We loved our stay at okaloosa island and our condo was just perfect for our needs and what we wanted to do while there. We spent most of our time there at the property. It’s a easy access to the beach. The pools where spacious enough for a crowd. Lots of seating. I personally used the gym and it was very clean with lots of ways to get in a workout. Plenty of parking to you don’t have a far walk to your condo. There is a laundry room on every floor. Staff was out early everyday cleaning up and making sure things were sanitized and looking nice for al guest. The grills are huge and they have plenty to use. Our only struggle was with internet and WiFi. It forced us to be in the moment so it wasn’t that bad.

We have stayed at El Matador several times over the last 17 years. This condo is a new favorite. The twin over full bunk with trundle was perfect for our 3 kids. The master had a comfortable bed and lots of storage and a beautiful shower. The open, well equipped kitchen was great for cooking and hanging out together. Thanks for a great week! We will be back!

Perfect location for a beach front condo. Easy walk to beach. On 2nd floor. Large beach, private, enjoyed the pools as well, love the isolation from busy Destin. But close enough for a short drive into town. Family oriented. Bonus was hearing and seeing the military planes flyby.
