Asheville, North Carolina
If history repeats itself, then may it always be a replay of Asheville’s Gilded Age. If walls could talk, then a centenarian newsroom would have some spectacular stories to tell. And if location is everything, then 120 College Street is the epicenter of all things Asheville.
Welcome to the intersection of past & present, to stories of the Gilded Age, and to the ideal home base for Asheville vacations.
Welcome to The Daily Condo 201 at the Asheville Times Building.
Please note that The Daily Condo 201 is on the second floor. You must climb approximately 25 stairs to reach the condo. This is a dog-friendly property, but not cat-friendly. Please do not leave your dog unattended and remember to pick-up after it around downtown. Please do not use bath towels to wipe wet paws. We ask that pet owners to bring their own dog towels, food bowls, and bedding. No pets on the furniture. Guests may be required to pay an additional cleaning fee if furniture has been stained or damaged by a dog. This is a multi-tenanted building, in an urban center. Guests can expect typical sights and sounds of downtown living.

Welcome
Welcome to the Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street, the historic and cultural center of downtown Asheville and former home to The Asheville Times. Welcome to a home-away-from home located above the Black Mountain College Museum and Art Center and with its own private terrace. A downtown condo, just footsteps to fine restaurants and trendy nightlife, art galleries and antique shops.
Yes, it’s safe to say – this is it. You’ve found it.

You’re in the middle of it all and exactly where you want to be.
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!
Walk into the shadow of history (and of the iconic Jackson Building), and you immediately feel the pull: 120 College Street is a place where old meets new, where history blends seamlessly with today – where a contemporary patina adds depth to the monuments, parks, and stories that have resided here for more than a century. Indeed, this is a kind of wanderlust (and wonder-lust) completely and uniquely ours. Welcome to Asheville!
Here, in remarkable downtown, College Street is one of the most historic-yet-hip addresses in the city – a promenade that straddles the ephemeral boundaries between old-world charm and modern style.
And 120 College Street is at the center of it all: above the Black Mountain College Museum and overlooking the Jackson Building, across from Roger McGuire Green in front of City Hall and the County Building, and Pack Square Park with a large open green space on a slope leading to the main stage, three water features including a splash fountain and original art by regional artists. There are many seating areas surrounded by native trees and shrubs. This beautiful 6.5-acre public space is an extra amenity for visitors to relax and linger. This is Asheville history, respectfully updated for the 21st century.
So, while Real Life may be about compromise – sacrifice This to get That – we believe that vacation should be a special time. This is when you get both This and That, no compromise required.
The Asheville Times Building at 120 College Street is your no-compromise-required destination: at the intersection of past and present, in the shadow of the Jackson Building and overlooking Pack Square Park, and enveloped by the energy and charm of downtown life. The Daily Condo 201 embodies and embraces the Asheville scene – a scene that draws designers and artists, creatives and music lovers, foodies and artisanal beverage aficionados alike.

My husband and I had a wonderful long weekend in Asheville. Parking in the lot just down the street worked out perfect and was never complicated. We could walk to everything, the location was ideal. Very noisy late on Saturday night with all the crazy (much younger than me) clubbers but the white noise machine worked perfect. Loved that there was coffee and creamer provided. We truly could just enjoy and not worry about getting groceries when we arrived around 8:00 the first night.
The location was truly perfect. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go in downtown Asheville.
The perfect location and space.
Ideal downtown location
We had a lovely time in Asheville. The property is very clean, well appointed, and comfortable. The location was perfect walking distance from everything. Thank you!
The location was perfect! Right in the heart of downtown Asheville and walking distance to everything. Very clean and modern. Comfortable living quarters and quiet. The code entry gives you an extra sense of security especially being right in the heart of the city. While there is not parking at the location there are many close options within walking distance nearby. Love this stay was in a historic building as well. Definitely keeping this stay as one of my go to spots when I visit Asheville!
The apartment is very well maintained and appears just like the photos. Busy street, right across from the fire station and beside a night club. Thursday night was not bad, Friday was extremely noisy.
My favorite spot when I travel to Asheville! Location, location, location! Walk to everything! The only thing missing is a washer and dryer.
Communication and entry into the property was super simple. The downtown was perfect for walking everywhere downtown. We parked our truck in the lot beside the property (only available for $5 per day on Fri night, Saturday and Sunday. Property was awesome, clean, well equipped, and comfy. The club next door was rocking on Friday and Saturday but we had no problem sleeping and did not need the ear plugs. Mattress was on the firm side but that worked out OK as well. I highly recommend this spot and would rent this again when back in Asheville. PS - the restaurant downstairs has great sushi, etc and Strada had great Italian food ?. Thank you!
Very nice condo, one of only 3 units in the building, located above the Black Mountain University Museum. Well equipped kitchen and condo (except there was only one teaspoon in the entire unit, not good). The bad part was communication. We were never able to figure out how to communicated with the owner or any actual human being. Booking and check-in where handled by an automated agent. You could not respond to the bot emails, they were send only. We kept getting emails asking us how things were and telling us to contact them with questions. Except you could not respond to any of the emails. Thankfully the only thing we wanted to contact them was about no teaspoons, so it wasn't much of a problem. We're happy no serious issues occurred.
Great place, provided everything we needed to get away to Asheville for a weekend! Would for sure stay again if we get back to the area!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The listing was accurate, the place was very clean, and the location was perfect. The only thing preventing a 5 star review was the bed. We found it to be very hard and uncomfortable and we were unable to sleep well because of it. Other than that, it was a great stay.
Fantastic, clean place. Can’t beat the location - everything is walkable. Easy process to check in with code. Manager responds very quickly to emails. Make sure you and your party can walk up a flight of stairs with luggage - wasn’t a problem for us, but may be for some other renters!
Lovely apartment located in the hustle and bustle of the Arts District. It was perfect for my wife and I! Highly recommended.
We love this location and property. Easy access to all things Asheville. This was our second stay and am sure we will be back!
My wife and I recently came to Asheville to celebrate our 15 year anniversary and this property was perfect. It was exactly as advertised, location was perfect as all of downtown‘s attractions were easily walkable. Communication with the property manager was consistent and responsive. The unit was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you!
