Our top-floor (2nd floor) unit comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests with a thoughtful layout:

Master Bedroom: Queen bed, Central AC, ceiling fan, and wall-mounted TV.

Living Area: Queen-sized pull-out sofa sleeper.

Location & Property Highlights

Maui Sands is a direct oceanfront property facing the islands of Lanai and Molokai. While Unit 1J is tucked back for privacy (offering a peek-a-boo view of the blue water through the palms), the ocean's edge is just a one-minute stroll past the pool.

The Pool & Grounds: Enjoy a large swimming pool, BBQ grills, picnic tables, and sprawling grass areas for the kids to play.

Marine Life: Our reefs are teeming with turtles, octopus, puffer fish, and seasonal monk seals.

The Famous Beach Walk

We are located at the very end of North Ka’anapali Beach. This is the last property where you can walk directly onto the sand to reach Duke’s Restaurant, Black Rock, and Whaler’s Village.

Note: The sand on Maui is seasonal and moves with the currents. If the tide is high, a quick 1-minute walk to the park next door (Paki Maui) provides a large, sandy beach area all year round.

    Location was amazing. The place was exactly as described in the listing. Very clean. Great proximity to many great beaches for snorkeling and surfing. Great hosts.

    The description didn’t say it was right on a road and that is the side the bedrooms were on. It was not too loud but could be heard. It did not bother our sleep

    Condo is updated, with new bathroom remodels and new appliances. Includes adequate dishes, pots and pans for basic cooking. No water toys or beach chairs come with this unit, few left-over cooking ingredients, so bring your own or rent them. This unit’s bedrooms face the road, and owner has considerately provided white noise machines if needed. Property is pretty and well cared for, with a nice pool. Not particularly little kid friendly though — pool has no steps or shallow part for little ones; beach is a narrow strip of sand and rocks that is a HUGE step down from property and there is not room to set up beach chairs — water often right up to steps. BUT the water is crystal clear and there is good snorkeling between the two reefs right out front.

    Big mahalo goes out to Hawaii for the lovely stay! What went right: very nice/kind property manager, beautiful ocean access, walking distance to park, bigger beach area (Honopiilani Beach), grocery store, moped rental, amazing cinnamon rolls, laundry room in complex, coffee shop. We had a great unit! We overheard other vacationers comment that they didn’t have good A/C and were too hot/miserable. Not so with us. We used the A/C sparingly customized by room and were VERY comfortable sleeping. Bathrooms, beds, kitchen, lanai - all perfect! What could be improved: maybe small shampoo/ conditioner? It’s a average rating for lux—- no “extras” that make you feel spoiled. The snorkeling near the unit was not good- but we visited just after a storm and the waves were pretty energetic even after the murk settled. So that’s could have just been our luck of the draw. We would recommend this lovely place for the family who is more interested in quality family time more than a “spoiled spa” experience.

    Clean and well-equipt condo. Good value for the money. Easy parking and great location. The tides were really high and strong and not much room on the beach for laying out. Very noisy on the road at night. The noise-canceling machines helped, but could still hear cars/trucks racing by.

    Maui Sands 1J was a great condo for our vacation needs. It was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the A/C worked great, and it was located close to all our activities. Our first night after traveling all day, we walked to nearby food trucks to eat. Very convenient since we were pretty tired. Kory, the owner, was very responsive to our questions and came out within the hour to assist with my concern. Turned out it was my error. He also brought us extra toilet paper, so we never had to shop for any. The tide was up the whole week, but there were plenty of sandy beaches nearby. So no problem! You could still use the beach and sit on the grassy area by the entrance. I would recommend this condo to anyone and would stay here again if I came back to Maui!

    This condo was perfect for our Maui stay and we will definitely return. The ocean access was phenomenal and loved the grill access. One thing to note is that the condo faces the street, which can get loud very early in the morning. People walking past not only make a lot of noise (the sound seems to carry) but will also shake the room a bit. We were there to explore so getting up early wasn't really a problem, but it can be jarring.

    We would definitely stay again. Place is as described. Conveniently located next to the ABC store. Easy check in and check out. We had a party of five and never felt to cramped. The only bummer is no real beach access but the park is close by so we could just walk over.

    Condo interior was older than anticipated and could use some loving care (coat of paint would help.) We did enjoy our stay and overall a peaceful, pleasant 3 nights. Pool code was changed and on site manager should notify property managers. Area was fine but no place to take a walk. Ocean water high on retainer wall. (Literature does state tides csn be high but judging by the area beach walk seems very rare to non-existent.
