Destin West Heron 409 ~ Bay Views ~ Overlooking the Lazy River!

Me and my brother and my teen kids had an absolute blast. It was the best vacation. The only thing I would change is to stay closer to the beach

We've stayed at Destin West (different rooms) for probably 8 years now, and this room had the best everything we could have asked for.

It was a great stay. We liked it so much we booked for next year.

Property was well apointed. Location was perfect for teens to explore the lazy river and pools. Overall excellent value for the money. I really loved relaxing on the balcony while kids were playing in the lazy river.

For the most part, we had a great time and stay at Unit 409- I appreciated that they offered a pack and play and highchair for my infant. This listing was a bit deceiving to the photos - as the twin bed photo is not in this unit. This unit comes with a bunk bed room (not the twin beds) which did ruin our sleeping room plans upon arrival. The hosts don't provide beach towels, coffee filters, or extended stay toiletries (minimal Toilet paper, paper towel, garbage bags, no dishwasher or laundry detergent, body wash soaps, etc). Need to bring or purchase all of this for week stays. The main pools seem to be somewhat heated. But the Lazy river is not- it's pretty cold on a 60-70 degree day! There's also a ticking noise or pounding noise from what seems like the plumbing through the night that bothered a few sleepers.Other than those few details, it was pretty well cleaned- could use some new kitchen supplies and floors deep cleaned. Great beach toys, umbrella and wagon provided for the trek to the beachside. Very responsive host all week.

This was a last minute decision to book the trip. The dates & times worked out perfectly. We loved the location of the property, not in the hustle & bustle of Destin but plenty of stuff to do. Everyone loved the lazy river and pool. The beach access was easy to get too. We had an issue with the washing machine, and this was handled incredibly fast and within 2 hours a new washer was installed and working. Everything was top notch, and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beach destination.

Location and condo were great! We had a couple issues with the beds initially but the host had great communication and fixed the issues immediately!

We loved this place! Everything was very clean and well taken care of. We had a baby with us and it was so helpful that they provided a pack and play and high chair. Kitchen had everything we needed when we stayed in and when we went out there was plenty of restaurants near by. We absolutely loved our view of the bay and the lazy river/pools. The kids loved the pool area so much. The beach is just a short walk across the sky bridge. We definitely would love to come back here again!
