Cozy Dockside 2 bed, 2 bath at Sanibel Moorings #1322

The trees, flowers, and grounds here are just fantastic and gorgeous - the canal side we were on was great for drinking morning coffee under a plumeria tree by the peaceful canal then just a short walk across to the beach was perfect. The walk was so short even for our small kids and so enjoyable with all the beautiful flowers. It was so nice that there are also beach chairs and umbrellas provided by the property (go early enough to claim them!). The two bedroom unit was updated and gorgeous with sparkly countertops and sufficient table seating for 6 (hard to find in a small condo). The only “complaint” would be that the swimming pools are pretty small, they got crowded quickly but that is minor when you’re there for the beach anyway.

The condo was clean, updated kitchen and bathrooms, comfortable beds and great location. Our unit was on the canal but only a few minute walk to the fabulous beach of Sanibel. Even though it will still be a few years before everything is back to before hurricane Ian life, the staff at the Moorings has done a wonderful job. We’re coming back next year!

This rental is on the quiet end of the island between the marina and the beach. Crossing the road to get to the beach side was never a problem as there is little traffic. The porch overlooks the parking lot but is up in a giant Mahogany tree so it feels like you are in a tree house. The unit has easy access to the heated pool on the dockside, which is much less crowded than the beach side pool. The place has a cheerful, light-colored interior and it faces south so it collects the winter sun. I would definitely rent this place again. My only issue was that the pillow-top mattress was too soft for me, but to each his own I guess.

We have been so taken with the resort and the place that we have been returning for quite a number of years, all the way from Scotland. Our unit this year was the best. Pleasantly decorated and furnished, very well equipped, nice balcony and very clean. We were located on the dock- side. Although we did not have a view of the dock, within a matter of seconds we could be sitting on the dock-side, enjoying the peace - a great place for our sundowners. The resort is noted for the quality of its botanical garden setting and it is well earned. It is a two minute walk to the beach through the resort. The beach is excellent and there is an ample supply of recliners and umbrellas. All of the staff are very helpful and pleasant. No requests are to much for them. Our visit had a rather sad conclusion, having after careful thought decided that, because of difficulties of travel, this would be our last visit across the Atlantic. Happily Sanibel and Sanibel Moorings have left us with wonderful memories and will always have a special place in our hearts.
