The decor has strong grandma's cottage vibes (duck knick knacks, wallpaper borders, sturdy wood furniture) but I was comfortable there. The neighbors were quiet and everything was clean when I arrived. My only quibble is that sometimes you can hear the machines in the laundromat under the unit (not too loud, but they do buzz the picture frames in the bedroom). The location had very easy walking access to restaurants and the small downtown of North Woodstock, and getting onto 93 for car access to lots of other towns and activities was a breeze.

Imagine my lack of optimism going into that search! But wow, I found the most perfect one bedroom condo at Alpine and the minute I walked into it, I felt happy, comfy, and so relieved that I had my own place for five weeks.

If you check in late, property management requires you to drive out again in the morning to sign forms you could have signed well in advance. Especially for repeat customers, this is an inconvenience.

Reviewer Comments: I'm afraid we were very disappointed in the unit given the price we were charged. The road noise was extremely loud, the air conditioning was not effective so you had to have the windows opened wide, the hallways were very hot and there was cigarette smell in them. We asked twice about a discount given the circumstances and both times were brushed off with We'll ask Susan when she gets back.

Finding the unit itself was a bit of a challenge with a back entrance. The property was accessed from inside the building. In the hallway, there was a pervasive cigarette smoke odor.
