Couples Tropical Getaway with Pool | Playa Potrero

Overall we were very happy with our stay - the home is exactly as pictured, cleaners went above and beyond with special touches in the home, and we felt secure on property with 24/7 security and gated access. Potrero is a pretty small town and the villa is easily walkable to restaurants and beaches. The property management team was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout our stay, whether helping with arranging travel, planning an experience, or having a hair dryer dropped off, we were able to get all the help we needed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Papaya and plan to make this our go-to spot for years to come. Our favorite beaches (La Penca, Flamingo & Conchal), cafes (Nita Coffee & Carpe Diem), restaurants (NASU & Hemingways) and hiking/mountain biking trails (Las Catalinas) are within 10 minutes. Although it is remarkably close to everything, Potrero and Casa Papaya specifically, are quiet and a perfect place to relax. We enjoyed birdwatching from the porch and hammock (which stay nice and cool) and also from the bedroom window that gets a lot of colorful birds visiting the banana tree. We saw spider monkeys, a baby sea turtle, iguanas and lizards all within five minutes of Casa Papaya. The condo was spotless, bright and beautifully designed. Krain went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing vacation. They offered recommendations, left a gift basket with local goodies, coffee and chocolate and a beautiful local flower arrangement. We can't say enough good things about Casa Papaya and plan to recommend it to all our friends and family.

Overall the property is in a convenient location and nice complex with a large pool. The unit itself needs some improvements. The property comes with one key making it difficult for the group to split up. The king bed was too hard for us. The sheets did not stay on it well and there was no mattress pad so you end up sleeping on the mattress. The unit could benefit from more indoor/outdoor hooks to hang up all your wet things. One hook in the bathroom kept falling off the wall. The Roku never worked on the TV. When we booked the unit on VRBO there were no reviews. A few weeks before our arrival, we saw the review about the Roku. It was not fixed upon our arrival. We purchased batteries for the remote, but that did not resolve the issue. The electricity went out four times. One time it went out after sunset with someone in the shower. We heard power outages are common. The unit would benefit from providing a flashlight for these occasions. The unit was crawling with ants at night. Neighbors mentioned they have their units fumigated. We also had a couple of cute lizard visitors in the unit. The property management was easy to reach and responsive yet some of the items may require action by the owners to resolve longer term.

Cute, clean little Casita in a great and safe location that is minutes away from the beach and restaurants. The check in process was really smooth, but we did have to communicate directly with the company outside of VRBO and sign a lease and pay them directly, which felt like a scam but it worked out even though it was kind of a hassle. A bit smaller than it looked online but still perfectly adequate for our needs. Kitchen had literally anything you could want. The bed was huge but a bit on the hard side. Very well priced and cute little get away!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We used three towels to clean up a spill in the rental property. Two months after our stay, KRAIN charged us over $150 for ALL of the linens in the property without proof of damage. They are not communicating with us nor answering emails or phone calls regarding the discrepancy. Do not stay here, it is not worth extra charges to your card months after your visit. In the additional forms that they make you sign before staying at the property, they explain that they are allowed to charge you for damages to the property - this means they could charge you for anything, and they are unwilling to work with you or communicate about any issues once you give them your payment information. Management is horrible and only out to take your money/scam you out of additional funds. I was not planning on leaving a review on small issues, but since they have charged us extra it is worth noting: Our water and power went out multiple times. The light in the living room/kitchen area was broken the entirety of our stay. The washer/dryer did not work (which is why we could not clean the towels). The TV did not work - it would turn on but the ROKU feature was unusable. Do not stay here.
