Stayed Sep 3, 2021I'd highly recommend this unit. My wife & I vacationed here for 10 nights in September.'21. Given the Delta Covid surge, and given that we frequently had to take the elevator between the 32nd floor and the lobby, we were happy that the building managers (and maybe the state of Hawaii?) required masking of all persons in the elevators and hallways. This unit has a lot going for it:- VIEWS: the sliding glass doors and the majority of the windows face northeast and provide an expanse of lush mountain views (changing directions and looking southeast out the window above the bed one gets an expansive view of Diamondhead, which although iconic is not lush).- LOCATIONt: it was just a few minutes walk to the beach, and there are plenty of restaurants, bars, and shopping within a short walking distance (Duke's, for instance, is only a 10 minute walk from the lobby).- BREEZES THAT MADE YOU FEEL LIKE YOU WERE ON THE OCEAN: Although we were 2 blocks from the ocean and did not have an ocean view, the near constant strong and balmy breezes that this condo got made us feel it felt like we were right on the ocean.- QUIET: we never heard anything from any other unit. we are very light sleepers and had no problem with noise whatsoever. A caveat to this is that although we left the windows open for those fantastic breezes throughout the day, when it was time to go to bed we did close all of the windows because just like in any major city one can hear the ambulance/police sirens go by whenever the windows were open; so we made sure to close the windows when sleeping so as not to get woken by a siren.- WATER PRESSURE: the shower had fantastic water pressure - management was very good at getting back to us in a timely manner with any minor issues that we had. Would I recommend this unit? Without a doubt, yes. Although I highly recommend this unit, I am going with 4 stars instead of 5 for the following reasons:- half way through our stay, and for a period of 3 days, someone who was staying in a nearby unit was smoking on their balcony for hours each day; we couldn't see the smokers or the smoke, but when the slider was open we could smell it (we presume it was coming from the unit directly below us). As we *hate* the smell of cigarettes we were forced to close the slider and window to avoid the smell for hours on end. Fortunately it only occurred on 3 of the 10 days were there, and for only 2 hours a day. Midway management was responsive in cal

Stayed Jul 16, 2021I rented a condo at the Waikiki Banyan (3213, Tower 2) through Vrbo, managed by Midway Realty, in July 2021 with mixed results. There were a few problems with the condo that Midway Realty responded to fairly quickly. But other problems were not addressed at all. First, the best thing about this condo was the view from the 32nd floor. But, past that, there is not much to recommend. I contacted Midway Realty after my second day there to let them know that there was mold in the bathroom, that the grout behind the shower faucet was broken, that the bathroom faucet was corroded, that there were no wine glasses (just water glasses and coffee cups), that the salt shaker was empty, that there was no dish drainer, that there was no exhaust fan in the kitchen area. The next day, they responded with more glasses, a new salt shaker, and a dish drainer. But, I had expected, for the price I paid, a condo in better condition. Probably the worst aspect of this condo, was the wind. Probably due to the high floor, and the fact that this was a corner unit, the wind blew constantly, creating loud whistling noises at the windows, and making it very difficult to open the front door against the wind pressure. If we kept all the windows closed, there was no ventilation in the kitchen or bathroom. If we opened a window, there was just too much noise. It was just a place that was difficult to stay in and relax with the wonderful view. If Midway Realty had refunded part of the fees they charged, it might have been worth it. But, for the price, and the condition the condo was in, I wouldn't recommend this condo, or any other through Midway Realty.
