My 2 kids (12 & 5) stayed here the last week of March for their spring break. The condo was very clean & well maintained. The grounds were well kept for a facility of its age. No complaints. The pools were clean, & the kids enjoyed. Location is fantastic. ...Condo: One suggestion was the bedroom door latch was installed backward so you could push the door open but had to turn the handle to get it to shut all the way. A minor installation error. Just odd the installer didn't immediately notice. I informed mngt and have faith they remedied. 2nd was the bedroom mattress was far too soft for me but that could just be preference. Resort: The tiki bar was tarped off even on warm days so that would have been nice to have it opened & it's only operated late afternoon/evening. If they can find the staffing, I suggest opening by 11-11:30 including grill. One day the grill wasn't opened for food access onsite which could be staffing as all businesses have that struggle these days.Overall we had a great time and would suggest it to others & will most likely be back.

This community was a hit with our 7 yr old daughter because there was an indoor and outdoor pool! There was one day it rained the entire day and the indoor made it so she did not miss a day of swimming. Dad even enjoyed the sauna and hot tub. The grounds were well kept and quiet, with great live music at the pool in the evening. Located just three mins from the beach it was very convenient. Communication with management was great and they were quick to respond to any messages through vrbo where I booked. The only bummer was that the TV's were not smart TV's where we could login to Disney+ or Netflix accounts, but there was satellite and our daughter was able to find kid shows. Each unit is individually owned so I can only speak for the one we rented. If you are a beach goer there are 3 public beach accesses but you will find many hotel employees set up in front of some of the larger hotels with signs the say private beach and offer to rent you chairs, umbrellas, etc., however after a quick google search you will find that is not the case. There seems to be some issue between hotels and the state about the privacy issue that is currently underway. At the time of this review the Perdido Key beach is not private, so do not let this keep you and family away from the beach. Some beaches are pay to enter so check that out before you plan.

A little to much furniture for the living room. Outdoor chairs weren’t very comfortable seats for the living room. But it was a great stay! Would definitely stay again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit was clean and cozy. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Lights around the pool area and in the pool were not working the entire time making it unsafe for swimmers. Other than that, it was nice.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed in 3 different units in Purple Parrot Resort in two weeks, due to evacuation from Hurricane Ida and subsequent damage to my home. 2 of the units were not completely rental ready after being hit by hurricane last year and should not have been leased or leased at a discount after informing the customer of remaining issues with the units. This particular unit was the only one out of the three that was fully refurbished and had all appliances operable and water faucets connected. For the most part this unit was comfortable with the exception of the bed mattress which was HORRIBLE! The memory foam mattress has a bowl indentation in the center and both my husband and I found ourselves trying to get out of the hole that we kept rolling into all night. The bathtub is old, stained fiberglass with mold around edges, and very high-sided making it difficult to get into. As for the rest of the unit, the furniture is dated and tired. The decor is very cluttered with an old dust-covered plastic tree and plants that need to be tossed out, multiple wall hangings, photos and artwork, clutters up every wall, and there is over-abundance of knick-knacks on every table top. Needs serious updating in furniture and decor.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a lovely stay at the Purple Parrot. The resort itself is so quaint! The condo units are adorable and it feels like you're staying in a little tropical village. My teens loved having access to the Tiki Bar/Restaurant to order food. Our condo was clean and well-appointed. The furnishings were contemporary and felt warm and inviting. A few drawbacks to the location: although we knew this property was not beachfront, we assumed we would be in walking distance to the beach. While we were in walking distance, there is no sidewalk to/from the resort to the public beach access and so driving is a must. The on-site pool is lovely and my teens enjoyed access to the waterfall, hot tub, lounge chairs, etc. It would be nice if the pool hours were extended past 10 PM (at least in the summer) since beach access is limited. Additionally, renters are not assigned a parking spot and with construction on the property (clearly stated on the resort website) parking spots are limited. Many containers (small storage units) are situated throughout the property as renovations are taking place. These shipping containers eat up parking spots. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Purple Parrot to our friends.

Overall the place was good. The only problem was that it was listed as a non smoking room and it had clearly been smoked in. None of the 4-5 air fresheners had been changed so it smelled like smoke. Also the rug had what looked like wine stains on it. It was close to the beach and everything around Perdido key!
