Bugs, lots of em. In the bed and under the covers. Zero security to the building. Broken fixtures. Broken sunk. A/C unit really loud and noisy. Did i mention bugs like the ones you step on in the middle of the night when trying to get to the bathroom. Found bugs on my toothpaste. Had to put everything i wanted untouched in the fridge. The place is a dump. Need i say more ..,
Comfortable place, in a great neighborhood.
Love the location. Love the spacious 3rd floor for my college age kids. Comfortable beds. Clean and spacious.
We had a pleasant stay. The house is in an upscale suburban neighborhood within walking distance of Ault Park, the Observatory, and shops in the square. We had the 2nd and 3rd floors, which are very spacious. The 1st floor is occupied by a long-term renter. As with most of the homes in that area the house is around 100 years old, which is interesting and quaint, but also comes with some quirks. The floors are very creaky. The house has radiator heat and a couple window air conditioners, which were adequate for our visit but outside temperatures were mild. The 2nd floor shower faucet is a little finicky. The combination locks on the outside entrances are a bit challenging until you get the hang of them and the entrances themselves are a little odd. Only the 2nd floor can be accesses from the front of the house. All floors can be accessed from a rear stairwell. The stairwell door to the 3rd floor has a combination lock, but the door to the 2nd floor does not, it can only be unlocked from inside. Since the stairwell can also be accessed from the 1st floor, most people will want to lock those doors at night and when not there. That means when the stairwell doors are locked, anyone staying on the 3rd floor cannot access the 2nd floor without going outside and walking around to the front of the house. Also, when you park in the driveway someone has to walk around to the front of the house to open the back door. It's a little awkward, but not a big deal. You have to park in the back of the house because you cannot block the driveway for the person living on the 1st floor. The driveway is long and narrow and may be a challenge for some people to back out of, especially with a larger vehicle. Street parking is limited, and was further limited during our stay because the house next door was having some construction done and the construction vehicles took up some of the spaces. The property managers were easy to reach and quick to respond. We had a minor issue on check-in, which they quickly responded to. The later check-in time is a bit inconvenient, but they did offer an earlier check-in for a fee. The neighbors were friendly. The beds and furniture were all very comfortable. If you're okay with the quirks of an old (but well maintained) house, it's a great place to stay.
My cousins and I flew into Cincinnati and shared these 2 floors for several days. It accomodated 9 of us, all ages and a dog with plenty of space to spread out. The beds were quite comfortable. This neighborhood is lovely with many parks and convenient places to walk to for excellent food and outdoor seating. Checking in is easy but the lock was a bit challenging. You may need more info on how to work it. Despite the summer heat, the overhead fans and AC wall units made it comfortable for all. There is a nice space out back to relax shaded by large trees. Enjoy!
Although there were several issues at check in (issues with the locks; no air conditioning in one of the rooms; heater came on later in the evening), they were available to help (even as late as 1130pm when we noticed the heat on), and answer questions to help resolve our issues in a timely manner. There was lots of room to spread out and nice that our older kids could be separate and stay upstairs.
This is a charming home, in a location that was perfect for our needs. We liked having a separate upper floor bedrooms and bath, for our college age kids' privacy. The property manager was attentive and gracious. We look forward to returning!
We had a great stay with the family.
