Stayed Feb 1, 2020Upon arrival was welcomed in by Patty and Kim, and shown thru unit. We had booked the unit sight unseen, but were pleasantly surprised with the amenities and cleanliness - all looked new although Casa Las Margaritas had been in operation for a few years. The location is a little distance from central Barra, a 10-15 minute walk, but afforded a quiet respite at night. The configuration of windows & prevailing breezes at night provided a nice cooling breeze thru the unit most nights. Amenities included a swimming pool and large garden area at the rear of the complex. All in all, very good, would do again !!!

Stayed Jan 29, 2019Three stars is the most we are able to give Las Margaritas. The hosts are very nice folks and we enjoyed conversations with them but it seems as if their approach to the property is more along the line of having a rental rather than being in the hospitality business. For instance, the single bed they offer is a double not a queen and the mattress is not comfortable. The front room furniture is something akin to what you might find for free in someone's front yard. Very cheap and not at all comfortable. There is no place to comfortably sit and read other than on the bed. There is a kitchenette but absolutely nothing in the cupboards such as salt and pepper. No dish washing soap. There are dishes in the cupboards but very limited. When the refrigerator broke down they offered to bring us ice which they did not do for several days. They have some bikes but they are old and in disrepair and often needing air in the tires. The half mile walk to town from there would have seemed more acceptable had the place been more comfortable. There are places closer to town that provide greater comfort and amenities and at similar pricing.

Stayed Jan 12, 2018I really enjoyed the three weeks that I spent at Casa las Margaritas. Kim and Patricia are wonderful hosts who go out of their way to provide detailed information and support for their guests. The unit is well-stocked and comfortable. It is just a ten to fifteen minute walk from the town centre but far enough away to eliminate most of the noise. The nearby Cabo Blanco Hotel hosts a very large and well-organized pickleball community. Anyone can play for an nominal fee. I look forward to the opportunity to stay at Casa las Margaritas again some day.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My wife and I had the joy of being guests here at casa las margaritas for two weeks. This was our first time to Barra de Navidad, and we weren't quite sure what to expect. I have to say, we will be back. We were extremely pleased with the property, it was as described. the pool was pleasantly cool, the bikes were a nice perk, the tennis court was well maintained, the inside of the casa was air conditioned and comfortable. All appliances worked well. Property is located just far enough away from all the noise of the main drag, yet close enough we didn't think twice about walking anytime we wanted or needed something. Upon arrival, Paty took us around town to show us around and let the shop owners and restaurant waiters know that we were new to the area and to take good care of us. The first restaurant she recommended was El Manglito, and it turned out that was our favorite of our entire stay. We went again and again. Say hi to Moi and Eduardo if you go, ask for their margarita, it's the best in town, they will take good care of you, and tell them hi for us (the young couple from Michigan, they will know who we are) Also, get the volcano (mocajete) it's the best thing we have ever had in Mexico. Be sure to take advantage of the fresh vegetable truck that comes once a day. they also sell fresh mahi and shrimp too. If you need anything while you are in Barra, stop by and see Paco at the old El Rey del Pescado Asado. It's right next to Sea Master and Mexico Lindo. He speaks good english, and knows everybody who's anybody, and can get you hooked up with whatever at a good price. I'm sure he'll find YOU! (you'll understand when you meet him) For free evening entertainment, go to Hotel Alondra for happy hour and the sunset. Strong drinks and the best view in town. Amazing. We have never seen so many spectacular sunsets...and you are guaranteed one every night. It's also the place to go if you have to! Have a great time in Barra, and don't tell anyone else about it. What an amazing vacation. We will be back.
