Stayed May 16, 2025This property was so convenient to town and private for dinner outside! The inside is very clean and comfortable not to say very attractive! The community is embracing . We were invited to community bbqs and given The Point's Community events calendar by a neighbor! Owners Tracey and John couldn't have been more accommodating and easy to connect with if we had any questions about the area ! Very kind and helpful. We loved the area and the cottage!

Stayed Aug 31, 2024After spending our 5th September at 2 Cherry Street, it really has become our “home away from home”. This charming carriage house is walking distance into town yet in a private and peaceful setting. The backyard has a lovely patio equipped with seating for 6, umbrella for shade in the midst of lovely gardens. Simply the best! Diane M

Stayed Jul 1, 2024Everything about 2 Cherry Street is easy, comfortable, charming and interesting. An old carriage house with modern units, the first floor layout is roomy and was perfect for our needs. Bathrooms, appliances etc were newer and the kitchen was well stocked. The dining and living rooms are pretty but comfortable with a great mix of furnishings and art. Every visitor loved their stay which included family and friends ranging from 20s to 85. Easy parking, great back yard which we used every day and quiet, cool sleeping. Very important! I had been to Newport many times in my life but never knew The Point neighborhood existed. It borders the harbor which is beautiful, has the most historic, classic Newport homes (many are restored to perfection) and is walkable to everything most would want to access like the restaurants and shops on the wharfs, Goat Island, Thames, up to Bellevue etc. Tracy and John are amazing hosts, checking in often to make sure you have everything you need and never seemed to mind being contacted for advice and referrals. Our time at 2 Cherry Street was really special and possibly the best rental decision I've ever made (and there have been many:)). Trust me you will be sad to leave.

Stayed Aug 31, 2023My husband and I, once again, absolutely loved our stay at 2 Cherry Street! This has been our 4th consecutive September at this same condo in The Point section of Newport. The accommodations, location, and quiet neighborhood are great perks and being able to walk into town is wonderful. Thanks to Tracy and John, our accessible and delightful hosts!

Stayed Sep 1, 2022Our 3rd consecutive September at 2 Cherry Street was indeed “a charm”!! Since you can’t beat the location, the Battery Park sunsets, the private backyard with grill, the open floor plan, the more than accommodating hosts, John and Tracy….why would we go elsewhere?? You won’t be disappointed!!

Stayed Oct 1, 2020Could not have asked for a better place to stay! The location is right near the wharf, Thames Street and Goat Island, allowing walking distance to restaurants and shops! The apartment was clean, tidy, and has everything you need for a short or long term stay! Being on a dead end street allows for privacy and quiet during the night hours, and perfect for the day to hang out in the backyard. The owners are very accommodating and just a call/text away. High recommend staying here, and we will be coming back!

Stayed Sep 1, 2020Having spent a great deal of time in Newport over the span of 40 years, we couldn’t wait to reacquaint ourselves with the area. As it turned out, we had not spent any time in the historic district referred to as “The Point”...and did we hit a home run! Our location was just a few blocks walking distance from the vibrant restaurants and shops in downtown. And the outstanding sunsets at Battery Park were just steps from our condo! Our hosts, Tracy and John, were extremely accommodating and very responsive. We enjoyed our stay tremendously!!
