Calypso 802W - Beachfront, 2 Pools, 1 Heated, Walk to Pier Park, Free Activities

It was very nice

The property was not as described in the pictures advertised. The floors and rug hadn't been cleaned prior to our arrival. The sofa is a pull out but the pull out is broken, the cushions are old and uncomfortable. The washer had fungus/mold and a terrible smell. The master bath's shower curtain has mold on it, the additional bathroom's sink would not drain, and the tub didn't have a plug for the tub (we had babies with us). The cabinets in the 2nd bathroom and kitchen had paint peeling off and we had to be very careful with the babies, such a safety issue. The return vent covered in dirt, the reason I mention this is because it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. The third bedroom had bunkbeds that were so squeaky and fragile. The top bunk couldn't be used because of how loud any movement on the bed made and there is a ceiling fan over the bed which is a safety issue. Neither of the balcony doors locked. This is a very pricey unit, and it doesn't meet the expectation of taking a group of nine on vacation. This was a disappointment because this was a celebration for our family. I spent so much time informing Panhandlegetaway of all the issues with the unit due to it being neglected. The location is great, near Pier Park. The beach was enjoyable. The pool wasn't clear.

Very nice place. Perfect location

We enjoyed our stay so much! The condo is exactly as advertised, sparkling clean and the interior decor is gorgeous and modern. We liked that the owner provided board games and TVs in each room with all the good channels. The view of the sunset each night was magical. And the balcony is super huge! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

Pictures must have been taken right after the paint job and décor were fresh. It could definitely use some TLC. Room darkening blinds in master were wonderful. I wish the 2 back bedrooms, where our 5 kids were, also had room darkening blinds so they would have slept longer. One back bedroom was fairly bright all night long because of the commercial shopping area in the distance. We draped a large beach towel over the curtain rod and it helped some. We went during the off season so it was wonderful to not have a long elevator wait, crowded pool or overly crowded beach. This unit is also on the 8th floor, so it was nice not to be able to hear pool noise, and still have a beautiful view of the beach and the water. (The upper floors are also a nice view, but when you sit on the deck you only see the water, not the beach, so depends what you like.) The washer and dryer were high end and were so wonderful to have. Electric stove was just ok, but everything else in the kitchen was very nice. We spent a lot of time on the very large balcony which easily accommodated our family of 7. Balcony could benefit from a pressure washing. The sliding door off the living room was also very hard to slide open. The tracks probably just need to be cleaned and then oiled again. The sliding door off of the master bedroom worked great. There were also sand toys to bring down to the beach. We loved having 2 lounge chairs with umbrella down on the beach. Overall, we had a fantastic experience with check in and check out. The beach is somewhat festive. So it's great if you don't mind groups of people bringing their own music, sometimes smoking, and putting their chairs in-front of the lounge chairs and umbrellas that you rented. (All 3 of these things are prohibited but they are not enforced.) This is not the beach if you want total solitude, but it's a great location if you want to be close to shopping, restaurants, grocery stores and Starbucks.

The only bad experience we had at the calypso was finding a cart to unload and load luggage and it took forever to get an elevator.

Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed our stay in condo 802W. The only things I would say could use improving are as follows: cooling the back bedrooms, the light not working in the ceiling fan of the queen bedroom and the floors had not been mopped (which I did, due to having young children). Thanks

Enjoyed the property for the most part. Only thing is it advertises having three pools and a hot tub( it does but you can NOT use the tower 3 pool and this is the hot tub area as well, unless you stay at tower 3) that would have been nice to know upfront.

Very nice condo with updated appliances. Location can’t be beat. The shared bathroom could use some TLC. Will rent again on future visits!!

The condo was very nice and the staff were very professional but 2 of the 3 elevators were broken at different times during or stay which made for long wait times (over 30 minutes several times)
