Building in the Funchal centre, Drapes Design

Right in the centre of Funchal, next to Mercado dos Lavradores, this fantastic building offers all the convenience for a group of up to 12 people.

Set in a building that once housed an old Madeira Embroidery House, the property is divided into six independent rooms, each named after a well-known Madeira Embroidery stitch. With modern and functional architecture, each room features touches that recall the island’s embroidery heritage. Each room has a double bed, bathroom, and fully equipped kitchenette, accommodating two people.

Guests can enjoy a pleasant terrace on the top of the building, complete with a kitchen for preparing meals, as well as a laundry room.

AREA
Just a few metres away is Edifício Anadia, a shopping centre with shops, cafes, restaurants, and a supermarket, in a privileged central area of Funchal. Steps from the Lavradores Market and the Old Town, you can explore many tourist attractions on foot (Cable Car, Funchal Marina, CR7 Museum, Sé Catedral, Madeira Wine Lodge, etc.). Excellent bus connections are available at the building’s exit, providing access to the entire island.

GETTING AROUND
A bus stop is practically at the doorstep. The airport aerobus stops a 2-minute walk away, but we recommend our private transfer partners, usually cheaper than airport taxis. Let us know in advance if you’d like to book this service.

ACCESS TO PROPERTY
You have access to all areas of the property. There is no elevator; access is via stairs only.

INTERACTION
We are always available to help or answer questions and do our best to reply to all requests. We also provide an app for guests with important information about the property and your stay.

OTHER OBSERVATIONS
- According to Portuguese law, all guests must present a valid ID (passport or identity card).
- Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If not scheduled within 48 hours before arrival, guests will be subject to our team’s availability.
- Bed linen and towels are provided. Baby cot, high chair, and baby bath available on request. First aid kit, extinguishers, and fire blanket are on the property.

ATTENTION
A Tourist Fee will be charged to all persons staying overnight in Funchal: €2.00 per person/night (aged 13+), up to 7 nights (€14.00 max per person/stay). Upon arrival, you will receive a link to pay this municipal tax.

HOUSE RULES

To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, we ask that you observe a few simple rules.

• Smoking is not permitted inside the property.
• Parties or events are not permitted.
• Please be considerate of neighbours and keep noise levels down, especially at night.

The property may be equipped with a smart sensor (Minut) that monitors noise, smoke, and temperature levels for safety reasons only. This system does not record conversations or collect personal data. If abnormal levels are detected, you may receive a message from our team.

In accordance with Portuguese law, all guests must present valid identification for registration.

A municipal tourist tax may be charged (€2 per person per night, up to a maximum of 7 nights).

Check-in: from 4 pm. Early check-in is subject to availability and a fee.
Check-out: by 12:00. Late check-out is subject to availability and a fee.
