Bocilla Island Club Unit H-42

My family has stayed at Bocilla Island Club many times and this unit was by FAR the worst. It is run by Castaway Island Rentals. In the past, I have only rented from the owner and I much prefer that. Here is a list of issues that I also shared with the rental company:-Smelled horribly musty and moldy upon arrival (not as if it had been recently cleaned). We had to go buy air freshening room spray just to be able to stand it. -Counters and cupboard were greasy-Mold spots on ceiling and walls-no soap or towels in 2 of 3 bathrooms--we eventually found some-Master bed was a full not a even a queen--disgusting stained cloth headboard-Carpets were stained everywhere-lights in laundry room and 2nd bathroom did not work intermittently-No smoke alarm-Master bathroom fan did not work 80% of the time-There were piles of miscellaneous decor in the corners of the extra bedroom, closets, and living room. -No bars stools at the bar-plugs in bedroom did not work-kitchen cupboards filled with junk and unwashed random tupperware and broken appliances. Honestly, I could go on and on. It was seriously not worth the money we spent. When I communicated this with the Rental company I was told they knew it was not their most luxurious rental and that they appreciated the feedback to talk to the owners. Sadly, the company never asked how they could make things right with us or offered us a refund of any kind. I am very disappointed.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental.
