    Beautiful place, appears recently updated, which was a nice surprise. Great location, beautiful view of the gulf, right on the beach. The only downfall is that it’s on the third floor, no elevator, which is a lot when lugging beach chairs and bags. Overall, great place, would definitely book again!

    This property stars in both the location and view categories. A bit rustic and not for the faint of heart (third floor walkup), but beach access, convenience to Blue Mountain night life, parking and the incredible view more than compensate.

    Unfortunately, that is where the positive review ends. The entrance to the main building and thus the way to get upstairs is not well marked, and the people answering the phone were not knowledgeable, so we began our vacation with a struggle to locate / get situated. (Josh called us personally and was very helpful, and so I guess that's also a positive.) Once inside, the stairway was carpeted (apparently in the 70s) and smelled of mildew. The unit itself also smelled of mildew. All of it, everywhere. And there was visible mildew on the shower curtain. The smell in the upstairs bedroom was overpowering. The smell was so unpleasant that we just couldn't make ourselves comfortable sleeping there, or being inside at all, and so we didn't. We decided we'd just enjoy coffee on the patio in the morning, but spend the rest of the time, including overnights, with friends. The inside was nice enough, for what it was, but is badly in need of an update. The wood kitchen cabinetry is from the 80s, and is just all sticky to touch. The inside of the fridge and freezer smelled horrific. The rest of the inside updates needed are more cosmetic. (well, and mildew remediation). From the popcorn ceilings to the Home Depot shower insert walls (with a shower curtain instead of glass) to the Formica countertops... not in keeping with the spectacular location/view, or the price tag. An updated HVAC system that let you adjust the humidity would probably be a tremendous hel
