Stayed Mar 9, 2024Even with all the hurricane damage, which is still extensive, our group had a great stay. The condo had lots of natural sunlight and great views of the bay. We liked the condo layout and how friendly the other people are there. Ft. Myers still has a long way to go to recover, but the beach is beautiful, and there is still plenty to do.

Stayed Jan 20, 2024We have been staying in rental units on Ft. Myers Beach for the past 11 years with generally good results, but I have to say Diego’s condo was our best experience. The condo is tastefully furnished and the views from the lanai of the canal and bay were really nice. But two things in particular stand out. First, it was the best equipped rental that we have ever been in. Everything you could possibly need is there. You can tell that Diego takes great pride in facilitating a pleasurable experience for his guests. Second, Diego is excellent in communicating with his guests. He invites you to contact him if there is anything you need. And you hear back from him right away. He is a genuinely nice person who really cares about his guests. One other thing I would mention is that the complex, Captain’s Bay South, is very laid back and low key. The owners I met were very friendly and welcoming. And the pool was the best I’ve encountered- it’s over 50 feet long and kept at 86 degrees. Perfect! It was wonderful experience. We’re planning to return in 2025.

Stayed Dec 12, 2020My wife and I and our adult son decided to be snow-birds for a five-week working vacation from the frozen north during December and January 2020-21. Despite the pandemic, we had a wonderful stay. We found the condo through VRBO and it turned out to be exactly what we had hoped for: it was clean, spacious, comfortable, with good wi-fi so we could work remotely. Diego was a friendly and helpful host the whole time we were there, attentive to any question we had via text or call. The condo offered everything we needed, nicely furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen, washer-dryer, and cable-TV. It was home-away-from-home and we didn’t want for anything. Hanging out and dining on the lanai was a favorite feature, enjoying the nice view, the peace and quiet, and the nice temperatures. The beach was right across the street. There were decent restaurants close by, with several take out (and dine-in) options within walking distance. One of our favorite activities was taking relaxing walks and bike rides, with visits to the Matanzas Pass Preserve, Lovers Key State Park, Manatee Park, Big Cypress Slough, Four Mile Ecological Preserve in Cape Coral, Naples Botanical Garden, Sanibel, and Captiva. Two day trips a little further afield but very worthwhile were driving to the Gulf Coast Visitor Center in Everglades City for a boat tour, and taking the Key West ferry from the terminal in Fort Meyers to spend a day walking around Key West. In Fort Myers Beach the traffic could be heavy, with tail-backs especially at the north of the island, but if you plan ahead and choose your time of day, you can avoid the long delays. Sometimes it was worth driving off the island to find a larger supermarket with a bigger selection and lower prices. All in all, we highly recommend this rental property

Stayed Dec 24, 2016My husband , my 19 year old son, and I stayed here and found this condo to be spacious allowing us to have privacy as the bedroom and baths were at opposite ends of the open concept living area. We appreciated the washer and dryer off the kitchen area too. It is tastefully decorated and well supplied. We also enjoyed the pool and tennis courts. This condo is conveniently located to area restaurants and less than a five minute walk to the expansive white sands of Fort Myers Beach. The owner, Diego, was very accommodating and answered all of our questions .promptly. We will definitely return next year .

Stayed Dec 20, 2015My husband and I and our 2 adult daughters enjoyed a 2 weeks escape from the Canadian cold at Diegos condo in Dec 2015. The description and photos on homeaway are entirely accurate, the condo was clean and decorated as shown, comfortable and more than adequate for our stay. There was pretty much everything you need in the kitchen, the only thing I missed was a blender. I also appreciated some staples being there already, dishwasher detergent, dishsoap, laundry detergent, paper towels, tp so you don' t have to run out immediately. We liked being able to park right by the elevator in the shade, the 2 pools were lovely and we never had an issue finding a lounge chair to sun at. The beach is a short walk across the street through the Wyndhams parking lot, and is lovely. The Wyndham offers water sports for reasonable prices and cabana/lounge chairs for $20 a day, but we used Diegos chairs that he has in a storage area by the parking spot. Although frequent visitors to many other parts of Florida over the years this was our first time in Fort Myers Beach and we loved it. Not pretensious, lots of great restaurants around, lots of things to see and do within an hours drive. We did Everglades City/airboating one day, Naples and the zoo another as the girls had fond memories of it when their grandparents owned a condo there for many years. Sanibel and Captiva another day, which brings me to my biggest negative, traffic. Getting on/off FMB at the north end of the island can take considerable time as it is a one lane street each way , same thing on Sanibel/Captiva but it is a touristy area, I guess you have to expect it. Exiting the island on the south end is out of the way but at least you are moving. Another negative was the 1 grocery store Publix certainly takes advantage of tourists with very expensive prices for groceries. I would assume off island stores in Fort Myers itself are better? We enjoyed eateries Nervous Nellies, Doc Fords down by Times Square area and Skyes, South Beach and Pinchers near the condo. Diego gives you some good advice regarding restaurants, rentals etc and we will have to go again to sample more of the fun of the area. There are also tons of tiki bars/happy hours to take advantage of, although my freshly turned 19 year old daughter was not impressed by being carded pretty consistently, even though she was with us, as age in Florida is 21. Lastly, Diego was great to deal with, we will be back! The Nairns

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Condo was clean and very comfortable with many delightful amenities. The owner was very prompt in responding to our questions after we arrived. The sunrise view from the lanai was beautiful. The location of the condo was within walking distance to the beach, good restaurants, boat excursions, and other fun rentals. Driving time in our car was minimal, during our stay. Would consider returning. :)

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The condo was beautiful , very comfortable and had everything we could possibly want. Loved sitting on the lanai overlooking the canal. The pool was beautiful and perfectly heated for us Northerners! There were great restaurants within walking distance. We especially liked Pinchers and the Fish House. We rented kayaks right around the corner and had a great experience! Took the trolley conveniently located right out front of the condo down to the beach for the day. You won't find a better place to stay, and you could easily get away without renting a car. Thanks Diego for everything!
