Beachfront Updated Penthouse ~ Golf Cart

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had fun but probably would have had a lot more fun if we had been here before. Seems like there is a large learning curve and we didn't have the instructions. Literally, we have never stayed in a vacation condo before and not had some sort of a welcome book of local restaurants, activities and tips and tricks to your stay. There wasn't even a map of the resort so no idea where we could take the golf cart to, like how to get to the marina side. Major complaint was about early check in. We know our unit was vacant the day before our stay and were willing to PAY for an early check in since we had an early flight. I called several days in advance and was told that shouldn't be a problem, just call when we land for an update. Well we did and the new rep acted like she couldn't believe we were asking for such a thing. Told us to call back in a few hours and we did, and then it was call back again later. Again this is something we were willing to pay for but told no, just call and we will be able to make it happen. We did get in 2 hours early, but our whole afternoon was phone calls and waiting. Also most condos we have been to before have leftover things from the residents before, salt & pepper, maybe some cooking oil or foil. There will be NONE of that here. You get one laundry detergent, one dishwasher pod and roll of paper towels. FYI the coffee pot has a HUGE learning curve!

This was a repeat stay for us because we loved the trip so much. The condo was the perfect size and location for my family (2 adults, 2 kids 5) and my in-law. They had their space, we had ours. The proximity to beach was amazing, pool kept the kids entertained and the golf cart allowed access to the resort across the highway and restaurants/shopping. Highly recommended this stay though maybe I shouldn’t so we can keep staying here!

We’ve stayed at several condos in San Destin and this one was the worst. Cons:- The listing says “recently updated” but I wonder how recent because all the showers have terrible mildew and the floors are nasty.- The beds and furniture are all wayyyy past their prime. Everyone complained about the state of the mattresses (sunken in and lumpy). The couch and chairs aren’t any better.- The pillows were so flat and uncomfortable.- There were no basics in the kitchen like salt and pepper. - We were provided with only one dish towel and 2 trash bags for 7 days. I asked for more and got no response. I understand they won’t supply you with everything for the duration of the stay but I feel 2 trash bags is ridiculous. - The washer was filthy and every load of towels we washed had black and brown mildew flakes on them. They either need to clean the washer or just get a new one.- The property management company was terrible at responding. I had to ask the same question multiple times to get a response. Also, I requested if we could get an early check in several days prior and they kept ghosting me. Finally, I called when we arrived and they kept giving me the run around. We got in 30 minutes early which was nice but it would’ve been better if they just told me yes or no so we could’ve planned our day a bit better. Pros:- The view was great.- There were beach toys to use which was nice.- The amenities are good.- Golf cart was fun and easy to bop around in.
