Jacksonville Beach, Florida
When it comes to location, you can’t beat Beachcomber #301: The Third-floor condo is just yards from the beach, even closer to the oceanfront pool, a stroll from the famed Jacksonville Beach Pier and boardwalk, and only a quick car ride from the attractions and nightlife of Jacksonville itself. But as well as being perfectly situated, Beachcomber #301 is a delight in and of itself, with its airy sunlit rooms and serene, comfortable furnishings.
With two bedrooms and bathrooms, the condo is spacious enough to house two couples or a family with kids. You are going to love the luxury of the king-sized bed in the primary bedroom, and the queen size alternative in the other bedroom is no less lavish. Each bedroom includes flat panel TVs, wireless internet and all the fixtures you need for modern living. The bay windows facing the ocean are just what you need to bring the crisp breeze blowing off the ocean to your living quarters. Both bedrooms have this form of access.
Each room is designed to be spacious. Even with such large and opulent beds as well as roomy closets, there are still adequate empty spaces in the bedrooms for the kids to play and learn. It is all the invitation they need to take their out their action figures and train sets and let their imagination and fantasies take flight. You can also plug in the gaming console and race off to another world. This is a house where imagination and creativity are nurtured.
While sweet dreams are all but ensured in Beachcomber #301’s bedrooms, the condo’s living room is just as restful. Sink back into the plush couch, put up your feet, and settle in for the big game or binge-watching your favorite show on the large flat-screen TV. Or, maybe you want to play a game with the kids--or take advantage of the free wifi while the kids sprawl on the floor with their action figures and crafts. Open the window and the door to the balcony and invite the crisp ocean breeze into the room!
Adjacent to the living room is the kitchen with both a dining table and a breakfast bar. While dining out can be a highlight of a vacation (and there are plenty of fabulous restaurants nearby!), sometimes it’s nice to enjoy a relaxing family meal at home. Our kitchen has just about everything you need, whether you’re microwaving leftovers or showing off your culinary prowess: major and not-so-major appliances, pots and pans, and plenty of tableware to serve it all up--plus a dishwasher to help clean up afterward! All you have to supply is the food--and thanks to the full-size refrigerator/freezer, you can stock up once at the start of your stay and then forget about grocery shopping for the rest of your trip.
Tucked away beside the kitchen is a full-size washer and dryer--yet another reason to pack light! You can run a load of laundry while you’re exploring the boardwalk, surfing the waves, or lazing beside the pool. Given how frequently you’ll be dashing from pool to beach to condo and changing in and out of your bathing suits, the washer and dryer will come in handy.
You could easily while away entire days without hopping into your car once--good thing there’s free parking! Should you tire of swimming, surfing, beach-combing, and fishing, though, there’s plenty to do just a quick drive away. You can hit the links at the municipal course or nearby TPC Sawgrass (home of the annual PGA Players Tournament).
You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to outdoor activities and distractions. The oceanfront pier is a great place to watch the sunsets and soak up the atmosphere. You could even organize a family picnic on the odd weekend, soaking up the balmy sun and relaxing with the sound of lapping waves as a backdrop. If you are inclined to get more of the action at the pier, bring along your fishing tackle, lay it and wait for a bite. The oceanfront waters attract plenty of trout, catfish, and flounder. You may even get a glimpse of the odd shark just offshore!
Nature lovers will want to take advantage of being so close to the famed Intracoastal Waterway, with its biking, boating, and bird watching, while the kids will love Adventure Landing water park. Beachcomber #301 is just a few blocks from the A1A Scenic and Historic Coastal Byway, giving you easy access to the historic sights of St. Augustine to the south, as well as to all the activities of Jacksonville itself.
Surf, sand, sun, and sights: It’s all practically at your doorstep when you stay at Beachcomber #301. Make this the base of your next vacation, and book your stay today.
We booked this condo for proximity to beach and 2 usable bathrooms. We were only able to use one of the bathrooms (4 guests) during our stay because the main shower was full of mold and the shower head did not work. The property manager was initially responsive to get a plumber in to look at the showerhead, but questioned our claim of mold in the shower. Since the shower head could not be fixed during our stay, housekeeping was not sent to clean the mold. For the cleaning fee and other fees, I expected better all around. The condo itself seems really outdated (which does not come through well in the pictures). The bedding and curtains (who chooses brown for comforters and curtains at the beach?) make the condo look really old--this is a simple and lost cost fix and could probably help with appearances. The TVs were not smart TVs and each required multiple remotes. Lighting is very poor in the exterior hallway (safety issue and makes it difficult to do the old-school lock box combination to get the keys). Pool closes at dark (even though it is lighted).
We all really enjoyed our stay. We wanted to be right on the beach and be able to cook most of our meals. This condo fit the bill perfectly! We would definitely stay here again!!
The condo was very nice. Great location rright on the strip on A1A.
Great condo for 4 people. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Enjoyed our stay, would book again.
Overall nice accommodations
The condo was very nice and the appliances and furniture were great. The condo was clean and well appointed. The location to beach access was only steps away. There was a view of the beach from the balcony. The condo management was very responsive and excellent in resolving any issue.
Great location and spacious room but the stairs are steep and parking is tight
Very nice could use a little more amenities like beach chairs or beach towels since we travel by plane
Pool was closed and had been closed for quite sometime no compensation just a address for a different pool 10 min down the road
If it were a test I'd score it a 70. We booked this property a week out and would have probably not selected it based on its reviews had we had more options. We found those earlier reviews to be mostly accurate. VBRO booking process was easy. Communication with Management Company, not s great. The condo is in an old, tired building. The unit itself has been redone and is well decorated for its size. Pictures were accurate and we liked the place. It has a nice kitchen for its size but there were only three pots for cooking. An 8 ounce saucer, a frying pan large enough for one egg, and a soup pot... lots of utensils to cook with but not much in the way of pans to work with. All in all, this was a nice little unit. Management Company was helpful but I shouldn't have had to deal with them. One of my biggest issues was that the owner kept changing temperature of the unit via the Next Thermostat. Didn't care for Big Brother deciding whether I was keeping the place too cold... I probably wouldn't go on a second date with this property.
