BIRCH HAVEN IS A VACATION RENTAL LIKE NO OTHER...

Aesthetics and comfort are given equal emphasis at this artistic 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo loft, furnished with antique barnwood & log furnishings designed personally by the artist-owner. Just 2 blocks from Main Street, the downtown location means that grocery stores, restaurants, art galleries, trendy cafes are all at your doorstep! We are also just a short half block to an integrated creekside trail system that showcases jaw-dropping views of the stunning Canadian Rockies!

The loft features 23-foot vaulted ceilings, soaring 8-foot walls of glass flanking a cozy log/river stone fireplace & hi-speed wireless internet. Enjoy stunning views whether you are lounging in bed, relaxing on the leather sofa, working out in the gym or soaking in the rooftop hot tub! Even though the hot-tub and gym are shared with other occupants of the building, they are rarely crowded because there are 3 gyms and 3 hot-tubs in the building.

Every piece of antique barnwood and log furnishing is exquisite and crafted by artisans, earning us a reputation as the area's most sought-after loft for honeymooners, families, and those looking for a vacation experience that's a cut above the rest! (All the photos shown here are of ACTUAL VIEWS FROM BIRCH HAVEN!)

THE BIRCH HAVEN DIFFERENCE...

Birch Haven offers free wifi and an unusual number of thoughtful bonuses, which adds tremendous value to your stay.

Travel guidebooks and brochures to help you make the most of your visit. A barnwood armoire brimming with toys, board games, and novels. Even cookbooks in the gourmet kitchen.

At Birch Haven, you can pamper yourself with our feather-bed topper for plush bedding comfort. Or remove the topper, if you prefer a firmer mattress. We even offer a 'library' of pillows to accommodate your preferences.

Upon request, we also offer hard-to-find amenities that make a real difference to parents: a portable playpen/crib, plus a dining high chair for your little one!

DISCLAIMERS: Please be aware due to mountain conditions, we cannot guarantee 24/7 wifi as provider outages that are beyond our control sometimes can occur. The hot-tubs are shared amenities and are subject to periodic closure for cleaning/maintenance. There are 3 hot-tubs in the building complex (2 rooftop and 1 indoor), so there is usually at least one that is open. However, we cannot guarantee availability as the cleaning/maintenance schedule is beyond our control.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!

VISIT 4 NATIONAL PARKS:
Birch Haven is blessed with easy access to four national parks and several provincial parks:

**24 km / 15 miles to Banff townsite (approx 15 mins)
**80 km / 50 miles to Lake Louise and the start of the Icefields Parkway (approx 45 mins)
**60 km / 35 miles to Kootenay Natl Park entrance (approx 45 mins)
**80 km / 50 miles to Yoho Natl Park* entrance (approx 1hr 15 mins)
**200 km / 125 miles to Jasper Natl Park* entrance (approx 2 hrs)
**26 km / 16 miles to Kananaskis Country (approx 0.5 hrs).

EASY ACCESS:
One thing that sets the Canadian Rockies apart from other mountain destinations is how little effort it takes to reach spectacular scenery. Truly stunning vistas that may require hours of hiking in other parks are right on the highway, accessible from the window of your car! Indeed, some of these drives (including the Icefields Parkway drive) are rated as one of the most scenic highways in the world...

****************
SUMMER ACTIVITIES:
Summer activities are seemingly endless: golfing, whitewater rafting, fishing, horseback riding, wildlife-watching, hiking, heli-hiking, ATV expeditions, caving, rock climbing, mountain-biking and more.

Bicycling magazine named the Canmore area as one of 'The 50 Best Trips on Our Planet.' Suffice to say, accolades and activities abound...

Drive to Columbia Glacier, the largest non-polar ice-cap in the world, hop on a snocoach and walk on the face of the glacier! Or, for a taste of the Wild West, hop on a wagon picnic excursion or saddle up a horse.

Hikers will find thousands of miles of maintained trails Try heli-hiking, and have a helicopter drop you off at the top of a remote peak, pick you up at the bottom, after you take a leisurely hike down!

And then there is golf. With 6 world-class golf courses and 135 spectacular holes nearby, Canmore is a golfer's mecca. Three courses (Stewart Creek, Silvertip and Canmore Golf & Curling Club) are within a few minutes' drive...

WINTER ACTIVITIES:
Winter is romantic and simply magical. Ice-skate, snowshoe, snowmobile, dog-sled, ice-fish, ski and more, in postcard-perfect surroundings!

Follow the tracks of wolves and learn the hunting patterns of owls in snowshoe excursions. Take guided ice walks through Johnston and Grotto Canyons. Experience the world of suspended waterfalls and massive blue ice pillars, frozen in time. Go on a guided ice-fishing expedition in the toasty warmth of heated huts!

Enjoy sleigh rides, or let a team of huskies whisk you through breathtaking scenery on dogsleds. Snowmobile through the back roads and wilderness areas. Or soar over the stunning landscapes of the Continental Divide in a helicopter!

Then there's world class skiing and snowboarding on dry champagne powder. Banff/Lake Louise was recently voted 'Best Ski Resort of the World' by the London Daily Telegraph!

Five downhill ski areas are within easy reach of Birch Haven, with Norquay, Sunshine and Nakiska within a 15-30 minute drive.

Uniquely decorated, this apartment has everything you need for a stay of any length. The fireplace was a nice touch. Beds and furniture very comfy and kitchen well stocked. Location is within walking distance to restaurants, pubs and grocery shops. Nice place to sit and watch the sunset on the mountains.

Pros: - right in the heart of Canmore (very cute little town) - small balcony - great directions and arrival instructions with pins/codes to access every space needed including detailed parking instructions which were very helpful - we didn't have a chance to use the hot tube area, but I'm guessing that's a pro ;) - basic toiletries provided (including hand soap, dishwasher detergent, etc) - plenty of towels, blankets, etc. and a well-stocked kitchen - clean - view Cons: - Much smaller than anticipated. 1 bedroom + 1 loft area (with bed) + 1 hide-a-bed. The living room with the hide-a-bed is barely big enough to fold out the bed (you can do it, but it's pretty cramped) - ONLY ONE USABLE BATHROOM. Yes, technically the loft contains the 2nd bathroom, but the toilet is just out in the loft area (not in a closet or anything) and since the apartment is so small, everyone would be able to hear (and probably smell) everything happening in that bathroom. - Each space is pretty small, so putting 6 or 7 adults is VERY crammed. We had 6 adults there for one night, which was fine, but any longer than that would have been pretty uncomfortable. - No room for kids to run around or play since the kitchen, dining area, and living area are all small and filled with furniture.

Stayed here for a night and was disappointed. The claim of sleeping 6-7 isn't accurate unless you are a college student and can pile in together or have 4 children and 2 adults. The location is great but no working TV (can get the roku working but doesn't help if there are sports on you wanted to watch) and the hot tub is not very nice. The description really overcalls it. I think it would be fine for a group of 4 max but the price isn't worth it and cancellation is 60 days ahead which makes it difficult if plans change.
