    We almost always give VRBO owners a five-star rating, but not this time. When we arrived, it was obvious the previous tenants had been smoking inside. Our mistake was not to insist that the property management company come to the condo and smell for themselves. After keeping windows and doors open for four days in pretty cool weather the smell abated. Also, the place was not as clean as it should have been and we even found a very dirty bowl, hiding in the cupboard below a clean bowl. The hot water takes several minutes to reach the kitchen. When we brought the issues to the property management company's attention, they did not respond for 8 days until I played my I am a retired attorney card. When they did respond, they basically said we were liars because their housekeeping staff never saw anyone smoking. Calling your tenants liars is not a good customer relations model. The bathrooms are updated as is the kitchen and of course PGA West is a lovely setting. But, full mirrored walls in the living room and master bedroom as well as buckling carpet scream early '80s.
