Stayed Oct 1, 2023Who could it be knocking at my door!?!?! If this owner were singing on Oct 1st, this is the song that I am sure he was singing. Starting about 6 days prior to this rental, I started contacting the host to find out what the check-in process was. I sent a total of 3 emails, none of which were ever answered. I also tried to call the number listed on the advertisement, but all I ever got was a voicemail prompt. I left 2 messages - the day before and the day our rental was supposed to start. I finally - on 1 Oct - had to get in contact with VRBO corporate to get some resolution. Even they had a hard time getting in touch with this guy. We sat in the parking lot in front of this apartment building - in a VERY sketchy neighborhood - for almost an hour waiting for this guy. VRBO finally got in touch with him and he gave me the code to get into the building. Surprise, Surprise, it did NOT work. I called VRBO back and told them to start processing a refund and that I was going to find a Marriott!! Which is exactly what we did....and it was MUCH nicer. PS: despite the fact that the listing CLEARLY states that there is underground covered parking the owner told me on the phone that that parking was reserved for permanent occupants. We were told to park on the street....HOWEVER, the City of Dallas blocked off all street parking in the area for the State Fair, with signs that would have resulted in our vehicle getting towed!! I hope that this guy is banned from VRBO!!!
