Villa Grà - Enchanting Villa overlooking the Sea

Villa Grà was the perfect place to home-base for our week on the Amalfi coast. The villa is located more-or-less in the center of Praiano, countless stairs above the waterfront and seemingly equally countless stairs below the Path of Gods trail, but within walking distance of numerous great restaurants and trails. The view from the main bedroom, yard, and large patio is breathtaking. The villa is creatively decorated, and well furnished and maintained. While there were only two of us staying there, there was plenty of room for another couple. We ensured we witnessed the spectacular sunrises from the patiodining table each morning and enjoyed winding down on the patio each night, listening to the sounds of the town and the nearby church bells marking time. Our host, Fransesco, was super helpful, offering suggestions and arranging transportation when we needed it. We could not be more pleased with Villa Grà and the SMAAC team.

Attractive well equipped apartment in a residential area near the top of the town of Praiano with plenty of space to sit out and good sea views. Praiano suited us well as it is quieter than its nearby neighbour, Positano, but still has great views, is attractive and has lots of lovely friendly good restaurants and bars within walking distance ( albeit uphill home). A local bus service operates from the bottom of the steps up to the property which helped in getting around and there is also a small grocery store close by. SMAAC who manage the property provided an amazing very useful digital information pack and can arrange boat trips and transfers etc. They were very responsive to any queries.

Apartment was very nice and as described, very clean, well equipped and comfy beds. We would highly recommend this apartment. Host is very helpful.

We just returned from a lovely visit to Villa Gra and recommend it highly. The SMAAC website provides a wealth of information which is enormously helpful prior to departure and throughout the stay. Praiano is a gem away from the hubbub of Positano and Amalfi, with a handful of very good restaurants nearby. There are 40-50 very manageable, gradual steps to reach the Villa. The villa’s setting is very peaceful and the view of the coast from the terrace and from the master bedroom is spectacular. The villa decoration is exceptional with Murano light fixtures throughout, and with furnishings in the colors and style of the region. The equipment is state of the art, and in fact we had to read the manuals provided to address an error message on the AC and unlock the cooktop. Both Francesco and Rosa in the SMAAC office were very quick to respond. We used the villa as a base camp from which we hiked the Path of the Gods, and ventured over to Amalfi for the day. The family and dog in the adjacent property are a little noisy on occasion but as we were away much of the time, it was manageable and on one occasion SMAAC kindly phoned them. SMAAC was very helpful in arranging transport to/from the Villa to Naples. We give SMAAC very high marks for its professionalism and responsiveness, and recommend the Villa for an enjoyable stay.

Enjoyed our stay, the apartment was so clean and instructions to find it / work everything were super clear. It was clear a lot of thought and care had gone into setting up the apartment, with everything you could potentially need and more being catered to within the apartment. The apartment itself has top end equipment, whether it was within the showersthe kitchen utensils and made it very easy to feel at home. Overall very impressed by the standard set and would recommend to anyone.

We stayed at Villa Gra in Praiano. The location is fantastic with a beautiful view of the sea from the very large and very private patio. The villa itself is clean, well maintained and seemingly newly renovated with high quality finishing and furnishings. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. We definitely got lucky with this - a great find. There's a bus stop 2 minutes from the villa if you're lucky to catch one, which happened to us 3 times, it's much less expensive than a taxi. Some great restaurants in Praiano - no need to be in the busier towns for good dining if a quieter setting is what you're looking for.

The apartment is in a quiet aerea, having a patio and master bedroom with spectacular view was perfect, good air conditioning, good bedding, towels, it has everything you need. The house is very well decorated, lots attention to details and great color scheme.

Francesco was so hospitable and checked on us daily and sometimes twice. The view was utterly incredible from the master bedroom and from a private, charming outside sitting area. The decor was beautiful and added to the warm inviting ambiance. Sleeping was easy as it was quiet and dark if you desired. It was hands down literally perfectly splendid! Can’t say enough about the beauty of the accommodations as well as Praiano. Anyone who gets to stay here is very fortunate.
