We've been coming to Gatlinburg since we were kids. Family vacations, big groups, just the four of us — it was always the mountains. When we finally had the chance to own a piece of it, we didn't have to think long. We chose the top of the mountain because that's where it feels different.

Haus of the Rising Sun sits at the very top of Ski View Drive in Panorama Point, above Ober Gatlinburg at one of the highest residential elevations in the area. The views from both decks stretchacross Mount LeConte, the Gatlinburg valley, and Pigeon Forge beyond. On clear mornings the sunrise comes up over the ridgeline while fog sits in the valley below you. It's the kind of thing you don't expect until you're standing there.

THE SPACE
The cabin sleeps 7 comfortably. Downstairs is a king master suite with a full en-suite bath and direct access to the deck. Upstairs is a second king suite with a Jacuzzi jetted tub in the en-suite, a twin kids nook off the bedroom, and a queen pullout sofa — a flexible space that works well for families. The living area has a wood-burning fireplace that runs October through March and an electric fireplace upstairs year-round. The kitchen is fully equipped for real meals, not just coffee and takeout. Three TVs with streaming throughout.

OUTDOOR LIVING
Step outside to the covered hot tub on the deck and you'll understand why most guests spend more time out there than they planned. Gas grill with propane, deck dining table, rocking chairs. The community pool is a short walk and open Memorial Day through Labor Day.

We self-manage both properties and pick up the phone when guests call. After years of vacationing here ourselves, we know what makes a Gatlinburg trip worth the drive.

BOOKING BOTH CABINS
Haus of the Setting Sun is directly across the street and sleeps 5. Together both cabins sleep 12 with separate spaces and shared mountaintop views. Good for reunions, multi-family trips, and groups that want to be together without being on top of each other.

Great place to stay unfortunately out of five adults we couldn’t figure out how to use the TVs and there were no instructions. It seemed as though you needed a username and password for subscriptions to services you had at home in an effort to use the TVs. That was Frustrating but great location enjoyed ourselves and saw a few bears Yeay!!

This is an AMAZING property. Best views of ANY place in Gatlinburg we've stayed. It's a drive to get up there but well worth it. Owner was very communicative and responsive. Outstanding.

We have stayed here twice. We love the location because it’s on top of the mountain. The view is gorgeous, and the hot tub is so relaxing! My children enjoyed having their own living area upstairs, too.

The views are spectacular, better than any of the paid attractions we went to around Gatlinburg (though they’re still fun). Came at the end of October and getting to look at the foliage in the hot tub was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The space was perfect for 4 friends and the owner was very responsive.

The view was amazing. Beautiful mountains by day and glittering city lights at night. The unit was well appointed with everything we needed to prepare meals. It was spacious and comfortable. We plan to stay here again next year.

View of exceptional and the kids loved the whirlpool tub!! The layout of the house was beautiful and relaxing with a warm comfy decor. The drive up the mountain was a challenge with my truck, will take the smaller SUV next time. Just minutes from all the great attractions and National Park. ???

This chalet and the whole community was absolutely adorable! Me and my daughters stayed 2 nights in the Haus of the Rising Sun and we were ready to just move in! It had all the amenities you would need and more! The hot tub was so relaxing and the beds were comfortable. Our absolute favorite part was the top deck and the AMAZING sunrises and sunsets! We could’ve stayed out there all day!

The first thing we noticed when we walked through the door was the amazing smell. The decor was very homey and comfortable. The location is incredible. Hands down the most beautiful place we’ve stayed in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. The upper deck was perfect for enjoying early morning coffee. The road up the mountain was a little scary at first but once we got used to it, it wasn’t so bad. Overall, we had a great experience!

Adorable street with good mountain views. In particular, I really loved how the second floor also had a living room.

We had a great experience staying at Haus of the Rising Sun. The view in the morning was breathtaking. We seen plenty of bears in the area, wife even seen a bobcat near our AC unit. You aren't too far from town. The pool and hot tub was also a great way to end each day, along with the views at sunset. It's also pretty quiet in the area, only time it wasn't was when folks a bit down the mountain had a close bear encounter. Kitchen is also fully equipped from pots and pans to coffee cups and plates, they even leave a handful of keurig pods for you. All in all we would stay here again.

The Haus of the Rising Sun was great for my family of 4! We each had our own space and the views are to die for! There was a bear seen once in the backyard area during our stay according to the neighbors (we missed it ). I would highly recommend and if we come back to the area, we would definitely stay here again!

This place is amazing. My mom is older and needed one level living. She got the downstairs master and only had the two steps into the front door which was great. The views are amazing. The best part - when we walked in for our Thanksgiving trip the place was already decorated for Christmas and there was an air freshener that smelled just like Christmas and it was so welcoming. We did not use the hot tub but it is very big. It has a separate living are upstairs that's great for 2 separate couples or even give the kids their own area. The views off the deck are the best. But then go upstairs and they are even better. Fully stocked, very comfortable with a wood-burning fireplace. It was the best place I've stayed in the almost 50 years I've been coming here. The owner is amazing too. Very responsive! This house has the highest deck in the subdivision and the best views.

Comfortable and cozy....except there was quite a few dead bugs around that looked like they had been there for a little while....not sure why they dont vacuum them up before guests come in. Also the twin bed in the nook unfortunately made way too many creeky and squeaky noises to sleep in ....but the pull out couch was nice ? and also the other 2 beds were very nice

This place is wonderful! The sunrises each morning were breathtakingly beautiful. We could see fireworks shows for as far as the eye can see, including Dollywood's drone show. If i could rate higher than 5 stars i would. Its located on a cul de sac at the very top, leaving unobstructed views and wildlife encounters.
